Why would you leave a place were you can win State every year to go somewhere the best you can finish is 2nd or 3rd. You can't beat T or X. Plus he is starting to get some of the best players in Jefferson Co. at Central, even competing with T and X for those kids.

Male is also looking for a Principle, they are in a pickle with not much time to get someone and spring practice. They hire a guy and then later the new Principle and he doesn't like the pick.

 

I'm also surprised at the mention of all the coaches leaving with Red to Jeff.

The new principal is Ted Beom and i don't think all the caoches are going to Jeff with Bobby.

I would think with the tradition at Male that the school would go out and really recruit a big named coach.

What is Beatty like, personality-wise?

 

My experiences with Coach Beatty are limited, but I think I have a pretty good feel for what he is like.

 

First, on the field he is demanding of himself, his coaches and his players. He does not tolerate excuses from himself or anyone else. He is also brutally honest. That honesty leads him to constantly look for ways to do things better. It is a big part of the reason his teams get better as the season goes along. While he is very honest with himself and others he is not mean. I have watched a lot of practices over the years. What I have noticed is that he is very organized. Some may not like his honesty. They would rather have it sugar coated.

 

Off the field he is a little shy. When you get to know him he can be very funny. Watch him with small kids. He is very good with small kids.

 

As far as leaving to prove something somewhere else, I doubt it. Look at the reasons he gave when he came to Trinity. He wanted a chance to run a program his way. He wanted a program based on hard work and discipline where he could put the best players on the field without worrying about the politics. He has that at Trinity. Besides, anyone that has been around Trinity knows that there is nowhere on the face of the good Lord's earth better than Trinity. I got a postcard from heaven last week (not sure if it was real). The return address said 4011 Shelbyville Road, St Mathews, Kentucky.

Lakunta Farmer of Doss High School is a Male graduate, and played for Bobby on the 1993 state championship team...He is young, motivated, and VERY Knowledgeable....:popcorn:
