Florida 51 Cincinnati 24

Great way for one of the best ever to go out in Tebow. I felt really bad for Cincy. The NCAA really needs to look at what they are doing to lame duck teams by coaches moving to better jobs before bowls are over. Not the coaches fault either. NCAA needs to move recruiting window or something. Dead perieod for coaches jobs?

Not a bad idea, but ultimately UC could have had Vince Lombardi on the sidelines and they were going to lose. UF was the better team by a wide, wide margin and no coach in the world could have closed that gap. Certainly not Brian Kelly.

Well neither does she or I. A bit of hyperbole there.

I'm sure he really he is great kid. I've just had my fill of him these past four years.

I know man. Should have added some smilies. I knew that it was a joke and I meant mine as the same :thumb:.

I don't particularly agree with throwing deep passes when the score is 30-3, but I am very proud of my home state's team. Truly a great group of young men-UF's seniors-went out the right way and I wish them all the best in whatever endeavors they pursue after they leave UF. Congratulations to Cincinnati on a great season, it didn't end the way they wanted, but it was still a great season. Maybe just for this night, It's Great to be a Florida Gator!

Complete domination by both the Florida offense and defense. They were simply too fast and strong on both sides of the ball.

Florida has a team full of Mardy Gilyard's. If UC wants to start competing with the "big boys" they need to get more athletes like Gilyard at the skill positions on both offense and defense.

Here's to hoping the Cats move on from this and continue to build on the foundation that has been built the past three seasons.

As far as those saying UC is overrated, I think Andre Revels said it best:

"We've been counted out 13 times this season. 12 of those 13 times we've came out on top and proved everyone wrong. Tonight was the first time you (media) were right. Don't try to discredit us because our record speaks for itself."

Well said Andre. Florida would beat probably everyone else in the top 10 like this too, outside of Bama and Texas.

This game points out all of the flaws with the BCS system. UC comes in ranked #3, and looked like a DII team. College football needs a playoff system badly.

My thoughts exactly. D1 college football is a joke with no playoff system.

UC had a great run but UF's athletes across the board are on another level. I wish we were able to see a true playoff system, the bowls this season have been terrible. What's better, one game that counts or seven games that would count if an eight team playoff existed???

It was like watching men against boys. I'd like to think that it might have been a little closer, as the Bearcats had to have been distracted somewhat by the Brian Kelly situation, but I'm not sure coaching was really an issue. Maybe he would have called different plays but athletically the Gators appeared superior in every facet of the game.

So would ND think Brian Kelly was their guy if they had to wait for Bowl season to end before pursuing coaches? Obviously the players play the game but after that drubbing would they be overly excited about offering him the job like they were after they came back and won that Pitt game?

Congrats to UC on their season winning the Big East.

I know everyone wants to play the "we get no respect card", but that quote is silly.

UF played with a lot of fire and intensity. Their D was smacking UC around. UC looked like a team without a head coach, looked very unfocused. You knew it was gonna be tough being that it was Tebow, Strong and (for now) Meyer's last game.

UF probably would've beat the Rams last night.

To be honest they were not given chances in the games against ranked teams. People thought they would not be good as they had lost 10 of their 11 starters on defense. I remember watching quite a few games when they played ranked teams where the broadcasters kept saying they were not a very good team (USF game especially). Also, the only person giving UC any respect from the national media was Herbstreit.

In one game UC:

Killed the Big East's credibility for the 2nd year in a row

Validated why an unbeaten record is meaningless is talking about the NC

Validated Kelly looking to move on

Made the 2nd best team in a down SEC look like world beaters

Proved that Kelly was a master salesman trying to tell us this D was good

Showed that the BCS needs to reconsider how they hand out bow games.

This is what is going unnoticed about this game. The SEC was not very good this season. As a starter, Tebow had his worst year and overall UF was not near as good as last season or their previous title team.

The sec was down some this year but they can still beat a lot of teams. Seems like most of the conferences were overall weaker or should I say more equal.

Hated to see UC go down in this fashion. I had hoped they would make a great game of it, but Florida was just too much. Congrats to the Gators and good luck to the Bearcats, here's to hoping they can make it back to another BCS game and hopefully win.

BTW, I loved the Stormtrooper look. :thumb:
