It's a matter of them being better in the trenches and overpowering and out-executing their opponents at the point of attack in addition to always having a stable of athletes and excellent coaching. These are kids though and head games can be powerful stuff. I talked to a young man from Owensboro a few years ago that played against Highlands for the championship a couple of years earlier. He said they came into the game pumped, believing they could take down the Birds. O'boro kicked off to start the game and Highlands took the kick to the house. He said that you could feel the air being let out of the balloon on the sideline and that the confidence level dropped like a rock.
