I gave it an A. They overachieved alot IMO. Getting 7 wins with no offense outside of Cobb and Locke is impressive in my mind. They played well with everyone other than UF. I think it was a great coaching job, though many will argue other wise. I guess it depends on perspective.

I thought they played well for what they had, but I still think we could have played better against the better teams, and until we start, I can't give an A or a B. I went with C for average.

I say B.

It was another step in the right direction for the program.

Two HUGE road wins against Auburn and Georgia. I don't care if those programs are "down" for their standards, those are still games that we would have never had a chance in pre-Brooks. Auburn had 'Bama on the ropes... Georgia just beat 10-1 Georgia Tech, those boys can still play football.

Two very disappointing home losses... Mississippi St and Tennessee. Win either one of those, especially the last one, and this season would have been a MAJOR step forward for the program. After Florida, Bama and probably LSU, UK could beat any of the others without question. Beat UT and you are 2nd in the SEC East, lose (in overtime) and you fall back to where you always are... that sure is a thin line.

Also a positive, regardless of how bad they played, is continuing the winning streak against Louisville.

B is my grade as well. They overachieved, and did great, but it easy to envision ways in which they could have done better. IMO, they absolutely should have won the UT and USC games, and MSU you can make the same argument. This team easily could have been 10-2, which would have been an A+. They could have also easily been 5-7, which is why I give them a B.

Put me in the "B" camp as well. So much hinges on one questionable play call - it works and you finish 2nd in the division for (I think) the first time in school history. It doesn't work, and you finish 5th on tie-breakers.

I gave them a B. Would have been an A if they beat UT and could still be an A if they go to the Chick Fila Bowl and win. I was/am upset about the decision to not us Cobb but I am very pleased with the improvement of the program under Brooks.

B. UK overachieved no doubt. But the USC and Tenn. games still baffle me.

Agree. And I would add the Mississipppi State game as well.

The Cats came sooooo close to being 10-2.

I give them a "B". I blasted the coaching staff on the play calling vs. U.T., especially in the 2nd half and down the stretch but overall I have to say that Brooks may have done his best coaching job at U.K. this season. I didn't think they would get near 7 wins. Granted, imo UGA gave them that game (probably more so than U.K. won it) but a win between the hedges and at Auburn was huge for the program.

I definatley think that the football program is improving, no doubt about that but they have a long way to go to be any kind of a a consistent threat in the SEC. Right now Brooks has brough them from cellar dwellars to the middle of the pack in the conference and from where the program was at when he took it over that is huge.

I blasted Brooks hard in that 3rd year or so but was proven wrong.

I'll say B-.

The blown opportunities almost drag it down to a C, but you can't ignore UGA and Auburn on the road.

A solid 'B'. They finished with a better record than nearly anyone predicted, will be in a 4th straight bowl game with another guaranteed winning season, and picked up some very nice quality road SEC wins. The reason they don't get an 'A' from me are the other wins that got away. This team could have been an 'A+' at 10-2 which would have been amazing. The more I think about it, I am more upset about the penalties that absolutely killed UK against UT.

Had they beaten UT, I would have upgraded my score to an 'A-'. But a solid 'B' is a fair grade for what they accomplished.

The more I think about it, what really killed them against UT were the penalties at critical times. At least 2-3 times on nice kick returns which destroyed their field position. I was mad about it during the game, but forgot all about it until later last night.

I am with you. 'B' is a fair grade for doing more than most thought they would do this year, but still leaving a few wins on the table.

B, from me. Going in, I'd have said A if we get to 7-5...but considering we lost twice in close games at the end with Randall Cobb as a spectator, after getting us in position to win by running the Wildcat. I have to drop them to a B.

I give tham a C. They won some games I didn't think they would but they lost a couple I thought they should have won. I think they are headed in the right direction though.
