I would give them a C. Disappointment in three games cost them a magical season.

If you told me 7-5 and wins over Auburn and Georgia (Louisville as well) in the preseason I'd have took it and been happy. I almost went with a B but I gave the nod to an A with respect to my expectations coming into the season.

This is JMO, but anyone that rates this season a C or below has lost perspective. This is probably the 10th most talented team in the league, and they had some wins many didn't figure they would get. A few more wins would have been nice, but come on it's UK. About 6 years ago 7 wins in TWO seasons would have been an accomplishment. Where is this sense of intitlement coming from? UK is a terrible, terrible, BCS job IMO. Getting to 8 wins is like the Super Bowl. Sure we can dream of more, but I don't see how we can get mad if we don't get it. Tennessee and SC are better football teams than UK. Mississippi State is probably a better football team than UK (they played 10 bowl teams including Houston and Georgia Tech OOC, with Ole Miss, UF, Bama, LSU). UK had a shot to beat all of them, but didn't.

 

IMO, this fan base has lost perspective. UK hasn't beat UT in 25 years, and more often than not UT was the better team. Could they have won the game the other nite? Yes, definitely. They would most likely change a few things here and there if they could do it over, but they can't. UK lost that game as a team. Fumbles, poor defense, not-so great coaching at the end. They didn't deserve to win the game, and without a UT fumble they would have no shot at all at the end.

 

Les Miles makes a poor decision and their fan base cries, which to me is pathetic considering not even two years ago he took them to a MNC. OSU cries about Tressell, a man who has done great things there and is a man of class and a great representative for their university. Auburn complained until they got rid of Tuberville a man who had done nothing but win at Auburn including taking them undefeated. FSU is ready to impeach Bowden a man who made their program. And now UK is crying because the coaches made a mistake? The same coaches who have done more for UK football than any other coaches in school history? And yes I'm including Bear Bryant. Men who truly love UK, represent our university in a great fashion, and have brought a winning attitude to a Basketball University. UK is always going to be 2nd rate, and that has to do with the fans. This team is not talented. They have ZERO QB's at the moment. The best pro prospect on the roster who is the leader of the defense has been hurt and the team made an amazing run behind a true frosh QB to get to a bowl nearly upsetting SC and UT on the way. I just don't get it and never will. I am PROUD TO BE A UK FOOTBALL FAN. I love this team, I love what these coaches have done for the team and us as fans. Get some perspective people. Before Brooks 10 win seasons were a pipe dream. This team realistically could have gotten there with so many holes on the roster. That is amazing to me.

 

We are not UF, USC, OSU, Michigan so stop complaining. We are lucky to have coaches that can get us to a bowl and keep us off probation. Programs take time. I don't want UK to be a flash in the pan like many others have been this decade. I don't see how anyone doesn't come from this season excited about the possibilities for next season and beyond. This team is something to be proud of. Maybe they don't have as many wins as other schools, but they have had to fight and claw there way to get to 7 wins. They gave everything they had this season, and it's not good enough for people. 7 wins and being in the conversation for a decent bowl game isn't good enough for UK? How did it come to this? We don't deserve Brooks or Joker or any of our other coaches if this is how we truly feel as a fan base. Bring in a slime ball, someone who will cut corners and have a few big seasons and get us on probation. That's where we should be I guess.

 

It killed me that UK didn't beat UT. I was so mad that I could barely speak after the game. AND yes, I was furious at the coaches for not letting Cobb run the ball until his legs fell off. But more often than not our coaches have done what is right and best for the program, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. 10 wins? Are you kidding me? We're going to complain because we didn't get 10 wins? I don't know that Joker will be a good coach, but I refuse to throw him under the bus. He made a mistake, I can live with that. I can't live with all this negativity. UK football is something to be proud of.

I give this team a C and I have not lost perspective at all. This team won 3 games in the SEC again, the same as in the past few years basically. So this team stayed at the same level, not better not worst. Just the same, so that means average which is a C. Yes they beat Georgia who is very down compared to most years. They did beat Auburn, who is basically the same level as us and could have went either way. Then Vandy was the other SEC win again. It takes teams coming down to us for us to beat them. Its not us going up to them at all. I mean we stayed at the same level we have been at which is a competitive level and if a program comes down to our level like a few teams did this year in Georgia, then we can win. However I don't see how you can say that is taking a step in the right direction. This team had a chance to do better than what it did, in a SEC that overall was down this year and we still managed just 3 SEC wins. I mean if you really look at the big picture, then the big picture just shows 3 SEC wins. I don't know how that could be any better than just average considering the SEC was down this year as a whole.

The Big Picture also tells us that this wasn't exactly the best team UK has put on the field the last four years. I look at this as a building year and nothing else. The offensive playmakers are young (except for Locke who will be a seasoned vet), and the defense played some new guys due to injuries. I don't see how anything else could be expected.

We are in the worst recruiting area of any school in the toughest conference in America. We only produce a handful of players per year in the state that can even play in the SEC. We have Ohio which has 7 DI schools in its state north of us with the Big 10 and the ACC and Big 12 neighboring us. I think our staff does an excellent job getting good players in. I don't always agree with play calling and strategy but committment to compete is there. I gave us a B.

I give them a B. They lost a ton of talent on defense last season. I thought 6-6 would be the best they could do. They won the games they should have and lost the ones I thought they would. I didn't think they could win in Athens. If they would have beat the Gamecocks I would have gave them an A.

Players have to be solid B...................Coaches on the other hand....D+....blaming Miss. State loss on Black jerseys, losing one (TN) with bad play calling, Thumbs up for winning vs Auburn/Georgia!
