I have never seen greener grass on a Baseball field the day after Thanksgiving.....What a complex!!!!

You know you're team is special when most of the talk is really never about beating you. It's stuff like, "We will score on your team", "This could be a good game", "Your QB could be bitten by the tsetse fly and get African sleeping sickness." Johnson Central like most that have come and gone this year will be playing with the mindset of simply not being embarrassed.

I got laughed at almost as much when JC was 0-4 and I said that they would win their district. They won it.

 

I got laughed at when I said they would beat Ashland. Beat'em

 

I got laughed at when I said that they would beat a Belfry team that they have never beaten. Beat'em

 

I have the utmost of respect for Highlands, but my opinion is right there in black and white. I do really enjoy messing with the bird faithful but this prediction is my true opinion. I'll eat crow if need be, but there is just something about this team that the record and scores just don't show. I would have thought that the Highlands fans would have learned that last year at Johnson Central?

The Birds were lucky to get out of there last year with a win. JC has a great program. They also have a great o-line and some hard nose running backs, #1 the taillback is a state champion wrestler. Their game plan will be to control the ball and to keep the ball away from the Birds offense. Then when they lull you to sleep with that power offense, here comes the pass. The Birds offense will really have to mix it up, and then everyone throughout the state is going to see how disciplined and physical the ''Nasty's'' and the rest of the Mean Birds really are. I think this will be a hard fought game with Highlands winning.(on a side note) nice artical on Mike Mitchell,Highlands grad playing for the NFL Raiders. they say he is 6'1 230lbs and ran a 4.43 forty. This article was in Ft.Thomas Traditions magazine. He represents Highlands well!!

My guess is that one of JC's prolific runners, i'm thinking the QB will be met by Mr. Roller on every play this week. Whether he has the ball or not. After about 10 of these blows, JC will have to figure something else out. Maybe throw down the field.:scared:If you don't remember Highlands best Defensive player from 2008 that's because Brandon was standing on the sidelines with a blown knee from the week before. Brandon is one kid that probably would of traded anything in the world to play in that game last year. I looked for him to have a huge and punishing game come Friday. You want smashmouth my friends.....You got it!!!!

 

I do not think he carries the ball very much. He just needs to tackle #42, the FB, every play because the way they run the belly option you cannot tell if he has the ball or the TB behind him.

This will not be a game. Johnson just doesnt go deep enough into the bench to have a shot at the Birds. I think I only counted about 15 guys getting reps for Johnson against Cov Cath. They will be run off the field by a very deep and very skilled Highands football team. Highlands LB's will make plays on the sidelines this week that the young Cov Cath LB's were just not able to make last week. Highlands by more than 30. Johnson will also feel the effects of playing in Ft. Thomas where the field for the opponent seems to be 20-30 yds longer than the field for the home team.

If Highlands shuts out JC I'll wear a Beat Highlands t-shirt next year. :laugh:

WAs a very tight game last year. HHS 360 yds rushing to 351 for JC. The difference was Tony Guidugli's 179 yds passing...and of course the "Rosey Rumble wit dat fumble"!! This year's game should not be as close...but I really don't forsee a blowout...Birds by 21!

Honestly? Lets be real and I am not trying to downplay JC's program but they just do not have the depth this year and lets face it their wins are not against any giants. The Birds will roll and it will be by however many Dale wants. It is up to him to either take his foot off the gas or floor it !!!!
