Hey Jim Matney and the rest of the JC gang I guess this game is already won and you guys should save your gas money and stay home.

 

Maybe they should go ahead and give them the trophy that they seem like they have already won.

 

OR.....you can go up there and shut their mouths. I remember and you do to a little ol' Belfry team back in '79 that shut them down and shut'em up and left them sitting at home during the state finals. Coach Roddy was not intiminated and I know you are not either.

Wait a minute... you mean Highlands hasn't already won the Class 5A state title this year??? Are you sure about that? I thought I read where they won the title last week. I'm pretty sure the title has already been settled and the Highlands-Johnson Central game is an exhibition game.

 

Seriously though, I doubt Highlands is taking JC lightly at all, given the game JC gave HHS last year. A lot of people thought HHS was going to overlook Dixie and look what happened in that game... Highlands went out and played arguably their most complete game of the year.

 

Just because some overzealous Highlands fans on BGP are taking JC lightly doesn't mean the Highlands players and coaching staff are doing the same.

 

I have no doubt that both Highlands and Johnson Central will go all-out this week and on Friday night. I predict a spirited, hard-fought game from both sides.

JC defense may give up alot of points, but their offense is good. But still think Highlands wins this one. I am thinking of a score like when Lawrence County went there in 1999. LC offense was awesome they score 36 and still got beat by 40 (76-36) :eek:

IMO? Stronger! They are fast and big but they do go both ways and that just might be their biggest weakness against HHS. You honestly had better be tackling everybody who comes out of the backfield because a lot of times I lost who actually had the ball!

Every single week Highlands is accused of "over-looking." I have come to learn that is really the only thing people can say when preparing against Highlands.

 

I remember a few weeks ago when Ryle arrived at Ft. Thomas and walked thru the gate and saw the Birds special teams already warming up... a couple kids saying.. "man their already warming up."

 

Birds will be ready and JC is gonna take one on the chin.

If they run the ball as well as last year this might be a great game. The only way HHS moved the ball last year on JC was passing. So that means that they would have to rely on their Soph back-up qb.

 

IMO, the teams that give HHS the most trouble are the ones that can run right at them but not be so predictable pre-snap where they are going. JC and their belly option gives them difficulty because you cannot pre-snap read by formation where the ball is going. Another example was when Coach R was at CCH and he would motion the FB to lead on isolation plays. Remember he would move back and forth pre-snap and the lead on the iso play? That gave HHS trouble as well.

 

Man now I have to decide what game I am going to go to!!!

You can sometimes run up the middle against Highlands because they play a 3-5 or usually a 3 down lineman D. Johnson clogs the middle well and I am sure they will be prepared to drop in a 4 or 5 if needed. They will make all the proper adjustments for JC.
