I posted that I thought that Gruden would be a bad fit for Notre Dame, and you said he was on their list. I'm not doubting that at all. For some reason I just don't see him as a Notre Dame type coach. Gillispie was obviously a bad choice for UK, and I feel Gruden would be the same for the Irish.

 

Sucking up to 17 year old kids would be a tough transition for anyone who has only coached in the NFL. I like the fire Gruden has though. I think that he could possibly be like a Pete Carroll. He would either flourish or like you said not be a good fit. I would rather take my chances with Kelly or Meyer.

I'ne never heard his segments, but I agree w/ you. I've told people that for years. If a kid verbals early to ND he moves up the rankings IMO. I just don't think they get a top 15 class every year.

 

I think it happens for Duke in hoops too.

I think he'd be alright. Rich Rod brings in southern speedsters and Meyer is a way bigger name than him. Notre Dame recruits nationally, which in theory means that they could potentially get the fastest players in the country, if headed by the right coach.

Not bad grades. I have heard that NDs requirements are much more stringent than say your average state school. The thought is that these requirements greatly reduce the recuiting pool. Thus limits the overall talent for athletics. I too am interested in what the exact requirements are at ND.
