Dayne Crist is supposed to be a decent scrambler, not as good as Tebow, but I'd say he could be in the mold of Chris Leak.

It's no where near that much. Tuition is $38,477 and room and board will average another $10,368. Still an expensive school.

He is a big guy (6-4, 235) who apparently scrambled some in high school. On rivals he is reported to have run a 4.6 forty, on scout it's a 4.7.

 

I think with ND's talent there and what everyone is saying about getting Meyer's players into ND, they would be better off with BK as the new head coach.

No, but I know that the football team is subject to the same requirements as the rest of the student body, no exceptions for athletes. Holtz used to get a couple of exceptions on admissions but nobody has gotten that favor since then.

 

I also know that they do not do traditional redshirts. If a players wants to have a 5th year, they are required to have received their degree and have been admitted into ND grad school in order to play. They are not allowed to take 5 years to graduate.

He'd be stupid to come back. If he's smart he'll have learned his lesson by watching the whole Sam Bradford situation and he'll bolt while he's the projected #1 pick.

Yes, Clausen is one of the best passing quarterbacks of this decade, I would say after Eli Manning, he's the best. I think if Tate and Floyd came back he would come back, because with those five on offense and Te'o getting even better, I definitely think that Urban could make it work. He would adapt the offense, he has for every QB he's had. They run more single wing, triple option with Tebow because he has the ability to run well. Chris Leak was not as talented at running as Tebow was, but he was still effective, when he was starting they passed the ball more and used Harvin, Wynn, Caldwell and Kestahn Moore to run.

 

With Alex Smith at Utah, they had someone similar to Andre Caldwell in Paris Warren, and decent running backs in Marty Johnson and Quinton Ganther. So the offense was virtually the same as it was with Chris Leak.

Since we are assuming in the other thread lets assume here that Meyer does take the ND job. How will his offense do in South Bend?

 

I don't watch many Florida games but maybe Spikes or Cats can help me out here. Say Jimmy stays and even if he didn't they would have Dayne Crist who is a big guy, and fast but he is more a pocket passer. How would Meyer use them? I think the recruit, Hendrix from Cincy, would look pretty good in Meyer's system.

Meyer would use more of his Utah offense with either QB. The reason they have added some of the things they have is because of Tebow's strength as a runner. So they would go back and run more zone, the trap play they used, speed option, etc. The would still use the counter they run now, but it would be mostly to a back or WR (UF runs it to just about anyone now).

 

Meyer works with his TE's strengths. At UF he had Billy Latsko first, and he was more of a blocking TE. When they moved Ingram there they would flex him out alot, and use him as a bigger WR. Rudolph would probably be used like Hernadez, which means he would have huge numbers and probably have a good shot of being a good draft pick.

 

Also, if Meyer came, the offense probably wouldn't look that different. Tate has played some RB in his early years at ND, and played both as a High Schooler, so maybe he'd be like a Harvin? He's not as athletic, but neither is the competition he would be playing.

Well, all should be good. Players usually are better their second season in Meyers (or anyones) offense. Meyer could and would make it work IMO. Kelly would have a better shot at winning the title next season though IMO.

I was there yesterday and it is simply amazing. The walk from church to the field is one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

Now they are allowing fans to walk down the tunnel to the field. I think this is an awesome site for the fans. As you come back up the tunnel, there is a point where you can see the early years national championship banners and Touchdown Jesus.

 

I wonder how many people that bash ND for whatever reason have ever been there. The atmosphere is awesome, IMO.

 

I would like to see a coach with an attitude about them. A coach that says we are going to hit and hit hard while kicking butt. I watched # 31 pass on a couple hits he could have delivered vs UCONN. I know there were others also. I was yelling at my TV, HIT HIM! Does this make me crazy? :scared:
