Tipton Releases a New Masterpiece

Featured Replies

So it's impossible to imply Buster Patterson got money from someone he shouldn't have? If he didn't lie and we find out the car was on campus and Patrick Patterson drove it to and from the game what was the point in putting that in the article that was a summary of a scrimmage? Did he list how every player and coach arrived at Rupp? Do any other beat writers across the country report how players get to games? If they do is it just to inform the masses? Do people really care how he got there? If they do is it b/c they think it might have been an improper benefit? Basically why have it in there if it is true? If it isn't and he isn't fired that's a complete and utter joke.

According to Tipton's blog the car is in Huntington, WV. By last count that is about 140 miles east of Lexington.

Tipton acknowledges he was, well incorrect in his article. Mrs. Patterson said she received a call from the Hearld Leader's editor apologizing for the article. A correction will be ran tomorrow.

Please someone from the print media please tell me that Tipton is just doing his job. Please, please, please come to his defense. Because I guess I still don't understand the role the media plays.

I would like to see this one defended!

So, I've read his latest post, but he doesn't really explain why he flat out lied for. Also, did he ruin Patrick's Christmas present?

He's pretty much stepped in it with this one. His non-denial denial was interesting to read. Not a good time to be embellishing.

Tipton lied and he got caught... So how do our resident media "critics" respond.... Crickets chirping...

Wonder how much other crap he has just made up for his articles over the years? I am glad the Pattersons called him out on this one.

This article and the others by the same writer, are objective and factual.

Some UK fans dont llke any truth and objectivity in reporting about the Wildcats.

The fake press had passes to the fake game. The real games I surely hope UK will clean that up when the season begins.

Stop wasting time on these threads and finds some real news.

Yup, dead serious.

He says that Patterson got a new car. Then, later in the article, he says that Mr. Patterson finally gave in & got it for him.

I'm not a fan of everything that Tipton writes, but give me a break.

The only "negative" I can see is the last line, which had to do with the recruits & their names being chanted. The comments about Liggins are dead on...but I guess they could be construed to be negative if you object to the truth.

Why is that suppose to be newsworthy or relavent to a basketball story? I'm a little paranoid when it comes to Tipton but could he be implying that someone gave the dad money to get the son the car. Tipton likes to plant ideas to get things started.

How can you say it was objective and factual when it was a straight up lie?

I appreciate you calling me a member of the "fake press" as well. You should ask a few coaches around the state what they think about my fake site and see what kind of feedback you get. Also, I am fake tired from working a fake 40 hours extra a week on my fake press site. My wife will be disappointed that the money I make each month is Monopoly money, as well.

You can spin it however you want to spin it, but Tipton spends his time digging for a negative spin on most every article he writes. This time, his fake statement got him in real trouble and his credibility has taken a major hit. Then, his so-called denial made the situation even worse.

Free information doesn't equal fake information :thumb:

I responded before I considered that he possibly didn't read the entire thread. That is probably a good call :thumb:

He didn't step it in. It did it himself, rolled around in it, and smeared it on his face.

I'm SHOCKED that a USBWA Hall of Fame member would do such a thing.

It isn't like the new truck is a big secret. Heck, Patrick Patterson discussed it early in the story, and his comments helped tie the story together. My guess is that Tipton's mistake was assuming he had driven the actual vehicle to the game that night.

The conspiracy theories abound ...

That's a pretty big mistake for a REAL journalist. Especially when the parents come out of nowhere to make you look like a fool.

If Tipton is "out to get UK", how has he maintained the job for nearly 30 years? Tipton assumed he drove the car, in all honesty he should of not dropped the tidbit about the car at all. All of these kids get cars, not a big deal really. He was trying to tie it into his lead, and it made him look stupid. It is kind of silly that people would even care what kind of car PP is driving anyway.
