It'll be nothing short of an absolute war. I've seen SK a couple of times this year and they are legit. Nothing not to like about that team, though I don't their defense is anything extraordinary. Ryle has been clicking on all cylinders lately, though admittedly their offensive explosion has certainly benefitted from playing four straight poor defenses (NCC, Dixie, Cooper, Campbell). So it'll be nice to see them go against a solid defense like SK and prove themselves all the more. There's simply a ton of talent there, both at the skilled positions and the O-line. Ultimately, I believe Ryle's defense is a notch above SK's and will do what's necessary to let Ryle's O win this one, 38-31.

You are right about Simpson, love watching him play and he is a special player. He is a super weapon and my vote for Mr. Football in KY. However, you don't know football if you really believe that Lawrence is "much more mobile" than Hempel. I hope that Hempel takes your comment personal. Overall, Ryle has more weapons with Eubank, Elliott, Mullens, Fugate, Hempel, Nichols, Lonkard and Carney. As to another cheap shot comment in this thread, Ryle has had 1 unsportsmanlike penalty called this year.

Cheap shot? Are you kidding? I didn't take a cheap shot at anybody, you are very wrong here my friend. If you think I was taking a cheap shot at Hempel when I expressed my opinion that Lawrence is much more mobile than him, you are very wrong. They are both fine quarterbacks, but I just believe that Lawrence is quicker and faster. No need to attack here. BTW, I do know my football. Lighten up, and don't take things so personal. This forum is here so everyone can express their opinion. Wouldn't be much fun if we all agreed, now would it?

I think many are underestimating SK's skilled players. SK was very good last season and had little to no passing game. SK had 941 yds in 15 games in '08, that's 63 yds/game with 5 total TDs. This season, 981 yds passing 163 yds/game with 10 passing TDs, quite a difference. Two receivers in Carroll and Krummen, both over 200 yds, and Winkler adding 10 catches, all three have more than 10 receptions on the season. Ryle has some serious offensive firepower, a serious running game and a now added passing game. I don't see any way this game isn't close, I believe the team that wins the turnover battle wins the game. Honestly, I can't wait until Thursday night, both teams are going to bring "it".

Both teams "O's" are very good, but whomever "D" will step up, will win this game?

For this game, I will pick SK's "D" over Ryle's "D"!

The same "D" that Henry Clay ate alive a few weeks back?

Giving up 31 points is getting ate alive? SK lost that game with self inflicted turnovers. Oh BTW please stack the box.

They gave up 42 to Henry Clay. Both teams are much better than last year. I still think kicking could play a big part. Ryles kicker is 35 for 36 on extra points. And has not missed a F.G. this year. Lets see if Ryle coaching staff has learned from their mistakes. Two years ago when S.K. beat Ryle, Ryle went for it 4 times on 4th down inside the S.K. 20 and got stopped every time. :irked: Kick it coach!! :thumb:

A) Is Hempel on kick off return? What position does he play on defense?

B) Was Ryle's unsportman penalty against HHS, or a team they rolled over? Just curious.

Also, possibly named after Owen Hauck?

No, Owen is named after Amanda's father who was like a father to Bryson. Heard tell that little Owen already looks like a linebacker and will be dressed in orange & black come Thursday night!:dancingpa

One would deduce that SK is going to have to decide to either key on stopping the run or the pass. Either way, Ryle's balanced attack will have opportunities to move the football. You simply cannot take away all their weapons and barring key turnovers & penalties Ryle will move the ball on SK. Miles Simpson may be the best back in KY, but I have to believe Ryle will stack the box and try and make SK throw the ball. Both teams will score.....

Are they trying to make it easy for SK???? Their QB only has like a 1,000 yards passing this season. I mean if I'm SK's coach I'd hope you're right.:idunno:

Henry Clay had NO passing game that night. S.K. had 9 up in the box. If they put 9 up in the box against Ryle Himple will throw for over 200 yards. I'm sure the Ryle coaches have watched the tape of the H.C. game. It was very clear to see that night where S.K. weekness is on D. But that being said. Turnovers will be the key. Without a dought 2 of the 3 best teams in NKY this year. Get their early and don't for get to try the kettle corn! :thumb:

I was about to tell you to watch it on tape, then you commented on how Ryle's coaches have likely watched it. I almost fell out of my chair laughing.:ohbrother:

I think it is a combination of the 2 Owen Hauck was and is also a huge influence on coach.

I am sure he will be in orange & black. I wonder if Thursday Owen will make a tv appearance?

Should SK win NKY 6A #1 seed is sealed.

Torn on this one.

I'm a bit concerned about SK's defense.

Ryle in a barnburner.

I'm guessing you were at the game? I was. Then I'm guessing you saw H.C. getting 5 to 10 yards on just about every run to their left. S.K. never stopped H.C. They stop themselves. Don't get me wrong, IMO S.K. should win. But to think Ryle can't run on S.K. now thats funny. By the way Ryles Q.B. has over 1200 yards passing this year.

Line em up and race. You would be surprised who would win a footrace. We will let the college scouts determine who is better between Lawrence and Hempel. They are both good h.s. quarterbacks and good leaders for their respective teams. Neither team would be as good without them. I am simply reacting to the fact that it is a slander to Hempel to say that Lawrence is "much more mobile" - simply not true and I will respond strongly to defend our QB.

Line em up and race. \.

How does that prove who is more mobile?
