How does that prove who is more mobile?

Line em up at a square dance with cones then. I've seen Hempel display some pretty mobile footwork against Highlands the last 2 years. SK has not played a D nearly as good, fast and quick as Highlands this year.

Hey Roman Empire, no hard feelings and I agree with you about opinions. We all have em and none of us are right all the time. The cheap shot was in reference to the comment by another poster that Ryle seems to get 1 or 2 unsportsmanlike each game. The unsportsmanlike this year was vs. Dixie in the scrimmage. There have been some personal fouls by both teams in various games but that happens some times by aggressive players that don't quite stop in time. Best wishes to your SK team and here's to a great h.s. football game Thursday night. Very good players on both teams and a lot of hard work to get the programs where they are today. Hempel does not play defense or special teams although he would be a great safety. Ryle has enough depth where they don't need to play folks both ways with just a few exceptions in certain situations.

Ryle will win this game by 6-10pts...

Not even close SK with a blow out

Would you like to explain?

You are right about Simpson, love watching him play and he is a special player. He is a super weapon and my vote for Mr. Football in KY. However, you don't know football if you really believe that Lawrence is "much more mobile" than Hempel. I hope that Hempel takes your comment personal. Overall, Ryle has more weapons with Eubank, Elliott, Mullens, Fugate, Hempel, Nichols, Lonkard and Carney. As to another cheap shot comment in this thread, Ryle has had 1 unsportsmanlike penalty called this year.

It's all good SS. I really like Hempel as a QB, I think his QB IQ is his biggest asset, very good game manager. I saw where you said "another cheap shot", so I thought you were aiming at my Lawrence comment. One other thing you should know about my posts here, I do not comment on players that I have not seen play in person. Just curious, have you seen Chad Lawrence play in person this season? If so, what game was it, and what did you think?

Just the facts for the last 5 games. Hempel 49 of 69 thats 69% 10 T.D.s - 0 ints 1043 yards passing. I have seen both play this year. Both good players and great leaders. I'm not so sure its such a good idea to have your starting Q.B. playing D and kick return. And I think any one who was at the Ryle vs Boone playoff game two years ago would agree. Ryle lost their starting Q.B. on a kick off.

I've seen Lawrence play and I'm impressed. He's definitely in the same category as Bardo, Wilson, West, and Erpenbeck as far as a legitimate threat to run the ball. Plus, he's a solid passer. There is no question he helps to make life easier for Simpson, as it is no longer quite so simple for defenses to key solely on Simpson.

In this one I would take SK. They are too big up front and Simpson will be too much for the Ryle defense. I also think that the Ryle offense will be shut down. Their run game is nice but SK will bring pressure in that 3-5 Defense and shut down anything in the Ryle playbook. At the end of the day the better team will win and after seeing them both play I'll take SK by 4 scores. 48-21. Two of the Ryle scores coming with the second team.

Agreed that the possibility of injury is increased, but Chad Lawrence is a gamer, and when you have an "athlete" like Lawrence, he needs to be on the field as much as possible to give your team the best chance to win the ball game. Sounds like you are looking forward to this game as much as I am. Should be a great one.......who wants it more?? Let's get it on.

Based on their performances against common opponents, as well as having seen them both in person, there is nothing to indicate it will be this lop-sided, one way or another.

So if I understand what your saying you think S.K. is 6 T.D.s better than Ryle? And from what I've seen, if S.K. was up 48-21 their first team would still be in.

I'll take Ryle in this one.

I'm also looking forword to the kettle corn.

The only unsportsmanlike penalty for Ryle this year was the result of over-celebrating a touchdown against CovCath, forcing a 35-yard extra point kick.

I think these are two pretty evenly matched teams and the game will come down to line play and special teams (especially kick return coverage). I give the edge in both categories to SK. SK should win by at least 10.
