  1. X 35 Ryle 10 less than 1:00 left in half 4 touchdowns in 8 minutes
  2. Ryle will likely keep it close early but X will be too much for them in both size and speed and will wear them down as the game progresses. X 48 Ryle 14
  3. I think West will be too much for Ryle to handle. He had a good game against them last year and he was playing injured. Ryle has a better running attack this year but they lost some talent on the defensive side of the ball. Connor 28 Ryle 10
  4. I just heard from a friend that Coach Rudd from Dixie passed away suddenly last night. Apparently he had been sick the past few weeks but nothing serious. He collapsed at home last night. He had just graduated from Dixie in 2006 and was around 21 years old. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends and the entire Dixie family.
  5. To block a number on a Cincinnati Bell phone just enter *60 and then the number.
  6. I am sure that they will not but I think they should. Ryle's game plans are routinely predictable and unflexible and are easily exposed by the better teams and coaching staffs. The Highlands game was a good example. Ryle had a great opening drive and the Highlands coaches made the necessary changes (by simply stacking the box and daring Ryle to throw). Ryle's staff was either unwilling or incapable of responding to the defensive changes made by Highlands and continued to try the same plays over and over with the same results (the SK staff obviously watched this game film). Of course the poor game plans are not as noticeable when Ryle is playing the weaker teams that can't stop the run even when stacking the box. Having said that, I don't think it would have mattered last night as SK was simply the better team.
  7. Congrats to SK on a dominating performance tonight. SK was better in all phases of the game but the ones that stood out to me were the line play and the overall game plan. SK pushed Ryle around on both sides of the ball and seemed to be the better prepared team.
  8. Is it on TV live or delayed? Also, what channel will it be on? Thanks
  9. I think these are two pretty evenly matched teams and the game will come down to line play and special teams (especially kick return coverage). I give the edge in both categories to SK. SK should win by at least 10.
  10. I second the Shih Tzu recommendation. Awesome family dogs, get along great with other dogs, not yappy at all, plus they do not shed.
  11. Ryle is down to around 380 absent today after peaking at around 580 kids and 25 teachers yesterday. Hopefully the worst is over.
  12. While other schools were cancelling football games and other events to help limit spreading the various illnesses making the rounds, the Ryle admin decided not only to have the football game and parade on Friday but also to cram 600 of their kids into their cafteria Saturday night for the Homecoming Dance. Now they seem surprised that they had 550 kids and 25 teachers out sick yesterday and even more today? From what I have heard, and I don't know if this is true, they can't cancel classes for just one school in the county but would have to call off school for the entire county to keep the schedules in sync. A classic case of government bureaucracy getting in the way of common sense.
  13. First of all congratulations to the Highlands team. It looks like they are on track for another stellar season. Overall I think it was a great effort by the Ryle kids, but I have to agree with you on the coaching. The gambles on fourth down helped to put the game out of reach. Even if they had converted the first downs, they were still unnecessary risks to take at those points in the game and sent the message that either they had no confidence in their punt return coverage or that they felt they had to take some gambles to compete with Highlands. Also, after an incredibly impressive opening drive by Ryle, the Highland coaching staff made the necessary adjustments to stop the run. This consisted primarily of stacking the box and blitzing at least one linebacker on every play. An easy adjustment when you play a coaching staff that is very poor at mixing up their plays and tends to run exclusively until they get behind. The Ryle staff didn't respond to these adjustments until the game was well out of reach. Even though the score may not reflect it, I think the Ryle defense played a decent game. They are still prone to give up the big play and haven't quite figured out how to stop the quarterback draw, but they seem to be improving every week.
  14. One other observation, I look for HH D line to wear down the Ryle O line as the game progresses. Alghough Ryle has frequently had strong players at the offensive skill positions, the offensive line has typically been their weak point. For whatever reason they simply don't grow em big enough in that part of the county (and in this case size matters). This year is no exception. I look for a big night for the HH linebackers as I don't see Ryle getting off their initial blocks.
  15. Good point, I should have been more specific on their special teams play as I was referring only to their kick return coverage.
  16. Highlands 35 Ryle 14 I look for Highlands to have excellent field position most of the night due to Ryle's poor special teams play. Also, Highlands should be able to stack the box on Ryle to slow down the running game as long as they can pressure the Ryle QB. Although he has improved from last year, he still tends to throw in to heavy coverage when pressured which should lead to some turnovers.
