Big Win. But X could not of played much worse.

They didnt play bad.Our O line and D line owned them.Mueller outcoached them.Birds fumbled 3 times and still dominated. To me that says they are clearly the better team!

I've never seen Merril Hodge in person, but it looked (from the TV) that he could still play.

Is this win as big or bigger than winning a State Championship? I'm wondering because winning the championship puts Highlands on top of 5A, while this game in a sense puts them on top of the entire state.

I think this game is bigger than a State Championship. If HHS doesn't win state this means nothing though..:thumb:

I don't think that melon can wear a normal hat..:lol:

Is there any way to get a recording of last night's telecast?

I just wished the JV players got in the game! It seemed that a few poster's thought they would be seeing a lot of action in the second half.

Great job by the defense last night. I was concerned about the tackling coming in to the game, but they tackled exceptionally well last night. Great schemes by the coaching staff and execution by the players. The D knows just how well they can play now. I was hoping the Birds would use Bardo a little like Tebow last night, and they did. Bardo is a heck of a player. I hope he can come back healthy.

I can not remember the last time I saw a measurement on the field. And the refs seem to always call the close ones a first down. Is there some kind of a rule for officials now that you give the team the first down if it is close enough to measure?

Highlands has a perfectly marked turf field. A good officiating crew will try to start on a line every time on 1st down....if you start on a line and get to the line 10 yards further....FIRST DOWN....no measurement needed.

Hmmmm....so maybe there is some truth to the ball being spotted a little forward or backward of where it looks like it should be. Maybe the refs are trying to spot the ball on a good mark for the first down? Makes sense to me.

People said the same thing about X and we saw how that turned out!The BIRDS will play anybody, anywere, anytime!:ylsuper:

Aquinas would be the dream match up they are just like Highlands built on speed.

Any word on the Bardo injury?

Did anyone notice that the chain gang didn't come out on the field one time to make a measurment? All the close first downs were by X. THOSE REFS WERE DEFINITLY NOT HOMERS!! :D

Funny about that. All the fans around me were saying that same thing. We wondered if the ref's were from Ohio too.

The game is going to be replayed, on CBS College Sports Network, Monday at 12:30 PM.

I don't want to single out any defensive player in this team win, but some of those sacks and hits by Roller were just jaw-dropping.

I noticed it took Massa only 2 plays to meet Roller. :D Roller played meaner than a grizzly bear with a tooth ache!!! Great game for all the players on Highlands football team, now go and bring home a state title! We wish Will Bardo a speedy recovery!

I wonder how Jordan Streeter felt after the game, considering he transferred from Cincinnati St. Xavier to Highlands.
