Sandman football is better now, but it was great fun in the 60 to be in the GCL and be the underdog and win over there in Cincy.

As I have posted above this was a GREAT win for Highlands and N. Ky. But as for being a statement about Ky. or N. Ky. football versus Cincinnati football, all this win says is it is possible for a Ky./N. Ky. team to win against one of the Cincinnati football elites. I don't think you can generalize this win beyond that. But that is a huge leap in itself because I would guess the vast majority, maybe 100%, of Cincinnati football fans (and most in N. Ky. outside Ft. Thomas) never believed that a win like this was possible. The fact is this Highlands team is an especially talented group and that is what it took to get this win. They have shown us a win like this is possible and that is awesome but that is all it proves.

I want people to be realistic about what this win means. My point is that many in this thread seem to think that this win means N. Ky./Ky. football is suddenly equal to Cincinnati GCL football, and it isn't. Highlands 2009 proved they are that good and that it is possible for a N. Ky. team to beat a GCL team. Great win by a great team and that is definitely good enough for all N. Ky. football fans. It is so fun that Highlands won this one. Let's not try to make it mean more than it does.

I just heard/read somewhere that Bardo is out for the entire season, and is scheduled to have Tommy John surgery stemming from the hyperextension of his arm. Is this true? If so, I feel terrible for Bardo. I know first hand the surgery and the length of rehabilitation and it's tough, and he deserves to finish out the season with his team as he really has proven himself. No one deserves an injury, let alone a season ending one in their senior year. God Bless.

I haven't posted any rumors or made any comments on the nature of the injury. If the family doesn't even know yet, then those posting rumors need to check their sources.

First of all it is not the wrist. Secondly, Will has not seen the doctors post his diagnostic testing of the elbow. So in the best spirit of this outstanding fine young man, let's wait until we get the facts... IMO, all athletes deserve the common courtesy.

It won't be: I heard it from someone who heard it from someone. If and when Will's family and Dale want the true story to be reported, it will be done properly.

I totally agree with what you are saying about waiting until truth is known before saying anything. However, as we all know, many, many people on discussion boards like this, say things without knowing the facts. You know, they want to be the one who 'broke the story' or what have you. You know, there is probably more non-truths on here than truths.

I guess my point is, anyone can say anything they want on here, and a large portion of it has no factual base. Sites like this one are for people to express opinions. How many times do you read on here about a statement only being ones opinion, or agreeing to disagree? If all statements on here were factual, you would have a lot less of that.
