June 25, 200917 yr I have been in love with USA soccer since 1994 when I watched them defeat Colombia during summer basketball camp at Georgetown College. This is the biggest win I've personally watched and it would be the biggest win of all time for the U.S. if today's game were the championship game. If they defeat Brazil/South Africa Sunday it will put USA soccer on the world's map and it will be the biggest three-game stretch ever, IMO. I was downing them, but I think I was watching a team play with little confidence and only 10 players. They are a tough little team when they are playing with 11 and when they are attacking. It was nice to log into my betting account and see the big $100 in there. I think I'll request an $80 check - and save $20 for Sunday :thumb:

I do know that Cincinnati is on the list of 35 possible cities to host matches if the U.S. does host. http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_14876672.html I think England will host in 2018, however. Three straight cups away from Europe ('10-South Africa, '14-Brazil, '18-USA or somewhere else) just isn't going to happen. I would suspect the U.S. to be a solid choice for 2022. Australia and maybe Japan would seem to be the biggest obstacles. I really think Australia might get it. The hosts of both the 2018 and 2022 World Cups will be announced simultaneously in December 2010.

June 25, 200917 yr I loved every second of watching the game and I'm not even a fan of soccer. It's hard for me to not tune in when the US is going up against a top-ranked team in any sport.
June 25, 200917 yr Author Well, I was way off!!!!! The first two games they looked like they had against Honduras and Costa Rica. The last two look like they actually enjoy playing soccer. Feels like it's 2002 again. Pretty exciting.
June 25, 200917 yr Great win, but now I can't help but think about the absence of Bradley in the finals. I didn't get to see the red card live but rewound to it, and that was an awful call. A bad call, but not a very good decision by Bradley to put himself and the team in that situation.
June 25, 200917 yr Such a sweet game to watch. Donovan was all over the field, he was awesome. Bradley red card was just awful. I can't remember the back line losing one ball in the air, they were great.
June 25, 200917 yr It will be Brazil/USA in the finals. South Africa gave it a go, but a late direct kick from just outside the 18 gives Brazil the 1-0 victory.

June 25, 200917 yr The player of the game in the victory over Spain was Tim Howard. World class goal keeping, and he was always alert and ready for every shot. The sheild by Altidore was tremendous and was actually pretty shocked that a professional defender could be taken out of the play like that. As for Brazil... I watched them today and was not impressed. They came out flat and played that way the entire time. South Africa had great possession and really played with a lot of heart, they might make some noise 351 days from now. Brazil is going to come out with something to prove against the United States and I just hope the team can weather the storm and keep it close.
June 25, 200917 yr A bad call, but not a very good decision by Bradley to put himself and the team in that situation. The red card was pretty bad, but it was a pretty late tackle and studs slightly up. Yellow would have been sufficient IMO but the refs saw it differently I suppose. Hopefully the team can overcome the loss and a bench player can step up.
