Porter's Future??

Featured Replies

I hope they do bring him back senior night. He has heard alot of negative from KY fans he deserves to hear the positive ovation as well.

Good point that would be the class thing to do!

I wish him well. I hate that Billy G. could be his last Coach.

Why?

I'll say this about Billy Gillispie, if you didn't put the time in for practice, you didn't see the court much on game day. Porter worked as hard if not harder than ANYBODY on that team. Gillispie held Porter in high-esteem and Porter worked hard for him day in and day out. Porter respected him as well. To say this is taking a shot, IMO, on more than one person.

I have always liked Porter. He has took a lot of heat here in the state. All he has done is smiled and played hard. People got mad when he did not shot but that could have been what the coach wanted him to do. If he puts has much in to his family has he did Kentucky, he will be a great father and husband. I wish him the best of luck in life. I have meet him a couple of times and he is a great young man. Really hope he is there on Senior Night.

I think he was one of the best 3 pt shooters(from the top of the key)for the cats. Good luck MP, hope you get everything you desire in your future.

Good luck to Michael Porter, many-including myself-have given him more than his fair share of criticism, but he is putting his family first and I wish him the best. Does anyone know what his degree is in or what he will try to pursue in a career.

Maybe he could stay with the team and be a Graduate assistant if he doesnt want to play.

He has a family to attend to and it might be a little overwhelming if he were to do that. He needs to take care of the family first and see if time permits other things as well.

Best of luck to him.

He was bashed pretty good by the fans I even threw in some barbs.

However, he was only guilty of saying yes to a scholarship offer and playing hard on the court and doing what coach asked him to do.

He will be graduating this spring and he and his wife are expecting a child.

LABS you just nailed it! One of the many kids brought into a situation in which they were going to fail. Best of luck to Mike.

Why could not Porter play his last year of eligible at Georgetown? He would not have to sit out or move either!!!

He has a family to look after and that is much more important than playing basketball...

I always supported and liked Porter, a lot. You have to respect a kid from Cali that gave up a full ride to play football at USC, then play for UK in basketball. The kid is an athlete and got a bad rap at UK from a lot of people and now they and some on here are owning up to it, however, a bit late IMO. Great team player and hope he does well wherever he may land.

He lived a dream, goodluck to him in the future.

He's a class kid that represented the University of Kentucky well. I wish him all the best and great success.

Why would he go play at Georgetown. If he was still going to play basketball he would do it at UK...He is choosing not to play because he has graduated, and has a kid on the way. Which is more important that playing basketball.
