Holmes 67 Central 63 (2OT)

Oh and one more thing, I was impressed with the presentation of the game. The lineups and the "One Shining Moment" video was great. If that didn't pump you up you don't have a pulse.

Awesome job bulldogs, this Newport fan is thrilled that you guys were able to get the job done for yourselfs and all of NKY. Your were a fun team to watch and cheer for.

Amazing game, had never seen Central play before this game but I was really impressed with them. They deserve all the props they get for going on the run that they did.

95-15 the last 3 seasons for Holmes. That is just rediculously good not to mention it included a final 4 appearance, a state runner up and a state championship. Reminds me of the UK run from 96-98 and the thing is they aint done yet. They return 3 big starters including their 2 best players and will make another run.

Housely sure picked a heck of a time and a heck of a school to transfer too. He's a great player and Im glad he got to experience what he did this year.

I have a question because I'm just curious.................One of Central's best players was Ridge Wilson (great name by the way). During the tournament, he wore number 42. When they started the Holmes game, he was wearing 13?? Can anyone tell me why? Then, during the game, he got blood on his jersey and had to change his jersey. The new jersey he put on was 42?? I am not sure what was going on here. Was this done to confuse Holmes? Also, I thought if you changed numbers during a game, it was a technical. Would appreciate it if someone could enlighten me.

10 minutes before the game the official book must have names and numbers. The number by the name is the official number. It doesn't matter what number he normally wears. Its all based on the book. If he was listed as 42 but came out in 13 it would have been a T.

Changing numbers during a game is allowed if its due to blood being on the jersey.

WAY TO GO DOG'S , I new you would do it congrats.:ylsuper:

Congratulations to Coach Henley and the Bulldogs. Maybe a snip or two of the Rupp nets can be shared with Arrez Henderson, Josh Nelson, Braeon Avery and Terrance Clark for their leadership in getting the Bulldogs to the final game last year. The experience was no doubt of value to this year's team when the going got tough.

:thumb:Cold chills.

This was one great game. The best I have witnessed since Antwan Barbour went off in the finals and brought them back from 20 down at half. Big shot after big shot made this game.Cngrats to both teams.

Congratulations to the Holmes Bulldogs!!!!!

I was at all the first 3 games this week. Then I came home Saturday afternoon. I went to a local establishment in Latonia where I was told they would show the game. The bar was packed and as the game got into the 4th quarter people stopped watching the NCAA games and started going crazy for the Bulldogs. When Riley hit the 3 in the corner the place went nuts. The air was then let out after the shot that sent the game to double OT.

But once the Dogs pulled away the celebration began. One man even got on the DJ's Mike and started chanting "WHO LET THE DOGS OUT". It was a great atmosphere. I saw people from CovCath, St. Henry, Holy Cross, Ryle, Lloyd high fiving. Everyone was so proud to be watching a team from the 9th bring that trophy back to NKY.

Congrats to all boys, Coaches, past players and fans.

I also felt that Arrez Henderson and Timmy Sullivan were a big part of this. They set a standard on how defense had to played and how this team had to up there game. And they stepped up to the challenge.

Congrats again to the Dawgs!!!!

I had to order mine at the booth. They said they would ship it in 5 days. Try giving them a call to see if you can get one. The company is Event Marketing and their no. is 772.408.5079 ext. 105. They had way to many youth sizes, and not nearly enough adult sizes. Somebody dropped the ball.

Event Marketing 1-877-821-8643 ext.105

This is the number on our receipt, as we had to order 2 shirts before we left, and need to reorder my daughter's shirt.....the printing is messed up on the back last 3 lines.

Very nice and helpful on the phone....hope you have the same experience!

Best game i have seen in a while!!!

Great to see the boys doing snow angels in the confetti.

I enjoyed the video but I also noticed something that has been a little overlooked. The lay in that Wilson made at the buzzer to send the game to the second overtime....guess what? That shot should not have counted. In the video it is as clear as can be that the ball is still in his hands when the clock hits 00. If Holmes had lost that game, we would be posting a picture of that shot right next to the Charles Hurt goaltending pic. But it doesn't matter because this team made it a moot point. Congrats again to the 2009 State Champion Holmes Bulldogs!

I noticed that as well but didn't want to mention it and take away from the valiant effort that Central gave. He clearly didn't get the shot off in time though. Glad it didn't affect the outcome of the game.

I was watching on TV and didn't feel that he got it off. It's a shame that the backboard lights were not on. I am assuming that they are somehow tied to the shot clock? That may have helped the officials get the call right. Either way it didn't matter but I agree, I felt like it was 78 all over again.

I was jumping up and down screaming at the TV. Buzzer sounded and the ball was clearly still in his hand...

Just glad that it didn't affect the outcome like the 78 no call.
