As a ninth region fan I think the tenth should be played somewhere else as well. While I will attend the finals of the tenth and will enjoy seeing them, I think the games should be centrally located within the region as possible to accommodate the fans.

 

BUT, when you try to be fair, and rotate the host districts, it's time to try it in Campbell's, Scott's, and Brossart's district, their fans should have to travel every year either.

 

As has been said, this will get changed and radio and internet audio broadcasts will be allowed. I am sure most will be very pleased with the event.

My seat is row A, which is the first arena seating section, I am thinking AA is the folding chairs right in front of me, I know there is a row of the folding chairs in front of me, they have seat padding too, so not bad at all.

I work at the BOK, setting up the court, seating, things like that. Yes they are good seats. Section 102 is behind the scorers table, and AA is the first row. Although I must say there really isn't a bad seat in the house.

You are totally correct, but as you said the Bank of Kentucky is the major sponsor. Now if you and I and a hundred of us Joe nobody's call the BOK staff all we get is a sorry to bad! Now if the major sponsor of the center gets a ton of calls from it's depositors and or the general public it's bad for business and guess what, if they call the BOK staff, you wanna bet those people listen to them?

One of the facts that nobody has mentioned so far is that the majority of the overall listeners to the internet radio broadcasts tend to be those listening to the replays, both immediately thereafter and days, months and even years down the road via archived broadcasts. While those with the capabilities such as CovCath or Brossart locally in NKY could lobby to do tape delays, and then make available later; that still doesn't address the many out-of-town "friends, family & other interested parties" who like to listen live, especially come playoff-time??

 

Bad first gesture by the BOK, and while they may need to protect a station with broadcast rights, they need to allow these semi-amatuer productions, that are of vital interest to those used to having access to their kid's, grandkid's, relative's, friend's, alma-mater's, etc. broadcasts of these games!! If they stick to this, they will definately be one and done with the 10th!!!! :idunno:

Wow! Who's bright idea was it to have it at BOK facilities anyway? Rotate that around the regions biggest gyms. Yeah the bank is greedy, I dont know the details but sounds like who ever made the decisions for the region was greedy also. Hopefully this will change.

Trust me, I know a few of the BOK employees who are just as passionate about this decision by the greedy BOK Center executives as we are... I don't think they have much pull in the matter. Hopefully this gets settled, because I'd like to listen to the games down here at UK, and I'm sure there's many in the same position as I...

This was brought to my attention for the first time yesterday, and I haven't had a chance to investigate. At the moment it is merely speculation and inuendo.

 

BOK is run by a management company which probably has established policy on this sort of thing, and is going "by the book."

 

Anthony Strong, the superintendent at Campbell County, is our representative to the BOK Center and I'm sure will voice in on this issue, and hopefully make allowing internet and over the air broadcasts of our games a term of participation with them.

 

BOK needs to be in a position of endearing themselves to long-term prospective tenants, and not alienating them, and I can't see them sticking to their guns on this one. The Cintas Center used to charge $!00 to do an internet broadcast of a high school game, but the fee was always waved by the on-site director. I would expect that the same thing will take place here.

 

Be patient, or scream your lungs out, whichever you prefer, for right now, but I am confident that this will be resolved, or this will be the first and last appearance in the BOK Center for the 10th Region Tournament.

 

I have long been a proponent of the Mason County Fieldhouse, and remain steadfast in my belief. The BOK Center sure isn't high school, and it sure as heck isn't the 10th Region. Here's hoping for one and done. :madman:
