What do you mean where did I come up with that? That is my opinion. It just felt like the 10th finals was rushed to get everything ready. The trophy presentation was like a cattle call and Mason had very little time to celebrate before they were pushed off the floor to get ready for the second game. This is my opinion and I guess we will agree to disagree on this one! :thumb:

Where did you get your information? I know for a fact that the BOK did not offer a $5000 guarantee. If they did I'm sure the 38th would have heavily considered that as a possibility. However, as previously stated the BOK dropped the ball with their public relation skills. That was a major turn off to some and a big reason the 38th went with Mason County for the 2010 tournament. Not to mention the 10th region finals playing second fiddle to the 9th region finals.

The 10th region ad's made the decision on dates and game times. The also set the price of admission.

I have heard that another game in this event will be Deming vs Menifee County. Can anyone confirm?

The old floor at Rupp was specially built so that it could be shortened to 84 ft. for high school games. The new floor that Rupp got a few years ago is 94 ft. standard for college. It can't be shortened like the old one.

Carson do you know if this is to allow Lawrence Co. room to get back in the 16th? I have heard two different stories. One is Lawrence wants back in the 16th and the other is that the 15th region schools want them out. Do you know which story is accurate if either one at all?

I remember from earlier post d-dawg you were unsure if you thought the BOK was the right site for the 10th region. I have to say I was in the same boat as you. But, after yesterday I have to say I agree with you. I like it there. It is first class and gives a neutral court for all teams involved. I also got to talk to some of the players that got to play their yesterday and they said that it was one of the best experiences of their basketball careers.

Comparing the first round atmosphere of the region to the atmosphere of the All A is difficult. I'm like others that have posted on here wait til after the games today, Monday, and Tuesday to make the final comparison. As far as comparing the physical aspects of the two buildings. BOK is hands down the best facility. Seating, lighting, floor, scoreboards, and access to and from the building is far superior at BOK. I never liked the design of EKU with the floor being down in a pit. As lodging goes. I believe you will see construction of more hotels in this area. Alot of nice places in Florence are just a short drive away. Remember that some of the teams in the All A don't get to stay in Richmond. Some have to make the trip south down 75 to Berea.

I would like to congratulate Coach Carr and the Scott Eagles on a hard fought victory. Also, I would like to congratulate Coach Johnson and the Deming Devils on a very successful season. 19-11 record All A Final, and a return trip to the 10th Region Tournament.

I honestly think you would see two of the districts be completely made up of NKY teams before you see the Old 38th back. I know their would have to be some of the traditional 10th region teams moved out. But I think this is a very good posibility.

Harrison has a 5 point lead and made some poor decisions. Plus, missed free throws in the closing minutes causes their downfall. Congrats to Coach Reitz on a great career!

Bracken puts on a very nice tournament. But, they do need to limit the local teams they invite. Most of them already play home and home in the regular season. I do like the sounds of making it a 10 vs 16 type tournament.

You can throw competition out the window. The KHSAA looks at alignments more geographically and sometimes "politically" . Do you really think that the KHSAA would bend over backwards to reassemble the OLD 38th? If this was some of the larger schools in the region maybe so. But, I don't think they would do this for Pendleton Co. and 3 small Class A schools. They just don't have the clout that the bigger boys have.

I agree as well. Atmosphere is what the fans, teams, and bands make it. If you set on your duff and don't clap and scream for your school then the atmosphere is going to be dead. Watch Monday night when school fight songs are played and see how many stand up and clap. I bet it will be very few. Just dosen't seem to be the the same spirit as in the past from a majority of schools. But it is alot of give and take. I will give up some of the atmosphere to have a nice chairback seat and plenty of room. Plus, you can go out on the concourse and actually move around and stretch your legs. I only had to wait about 2 minutes at the concession stand. I enjoyed today and liked the BOK. Ask the majority of players today what they thought. I'm sure they will tell you it was a great experience. Isn't that what it is all about? Plus, it is a neutral court. Which many on here have been calling for for years. IMO I think the pros outweigh the cons.

Congrats to Feldhaus and the Lakers on this major upset. Would this be the biggest upset in the state so far this year?
