Boone County 45 Holmes 38

Please tell me your being sarcastic?:eyeonyou: It looked like Boone had 8 players on the court most of the game tonight. They did a good job of protecting McFarland, he should have fouled out about half way through the third.

:lol::lol::lol: Classic.

Will Holmes drop out of the top 5? They probably should. It looks like Holmes peaked way too early, they may not make it out of the region.

Haha

Im not being sarcastic. Keyvon shoved the kid with two hands. It was right in front of me.

Nice win bye Boone Co. I missed the game due to illness. Glad to see Boone get the W. I still don't see why Holmes wouldn't be in the top 5 still...... Holmes is for real and I think a loss is what they needed. Not saying I wouldn't like to see Boone beat em again at BOK, but its gonna be tough to beat Holmes twice!

They are 23-2, they better be careful, they may not win another game all season now. Holy Cross will probably be favored by about 15 in the district match up. They better hit the panic button, there is no coming back from this one, there ship is sinking fast!!!!!

They are still the best team in the 9th, they had a bad day, its ok. As long is the bad day was today and not in the region it doesn't hurt to bad.

I agree, you can not blame the officials in this one. The only call I will disagee with is the Technical foul on Arnold, Holmes cut the lead to 6 he was making a play on the ball, they both stumbled out of bounds and feet got tangled. The kid from boone fell, next thing you know a T is called. It was called because of Arnold's rep because there was nothing flagrant about what happened and he wasn't trying to hurt anyone.

I'm guessing you sat on the Holmes side, because even though the refs missed some calls, that one had to be called. It was a two handed shove in the back that was completely uncalled for. The ball was heading out of bounds, and the only way to get to it was through the player. I sat right in front of it, and it was a good call. He is lucky he wasn't ejected reguardless of his reputation.

You line these two teams up 10 time Holmes will win 8 of 10, Boone played well tonight and Holmes didn't bottom line. Heck the Knicks beat the Celtics this year too, upsets happen, but better now than when it counts, all I need to sleep is knowing that there very well could be a rematch in a month.

:ohbrother:I don't think so!:ohbrother:

People are foolish to think that this loss should drop Holmes from #1 in the state to out of the top 5 lol. They had an off night, and often I feel they play to the competition. I still do not think Boone is underrated, I think they are just a team that played very well against a bad night for Holmes. Holmes fans should make no excuses about "Stall ball" or reffing, because Holmes needed this loss and it seems that they did everything to earn it.

As for the debate on Arnold's technical, given his history now, more than likely it was deserved. The kid has to get control of himself, I don't care if he is a sophmore. If he can't play with the big guys, don't let him. How many is that now for him?

Hope Pittman's wrist is okay.

:ohbrother:I don't think so!:ohbrother:

If they played ten times what would the ratio be?

From having only seen Holmes a play a couple times this year, I constantly am wondering what the Arnold kids problem is...does he think he is a superstar or that running his mouth does anything? IMO he doesn't have anything to back it up with. Pittman is a different story. Why can't the Holmes players feed off of R. Johnson's maturity. McFarland is five times the player that Arnold kid is. NO REASON FOR HIM TO RUN HIS MOUTH. Getting in someone's head is one thing. Pushing and shoving when no one is looking accomplishes nothing but making him look foolish and immature. If he wants to be as great as some thinks he can be he better figure out how to play with some respect.

Question for those better informed than I...Why does R. Johnson not take games like this one over? The kid is an absolute freak athletically and I have witnessed his spurts of greatness but he never seems to take control of games throughout the game....I know he has a talented supporting cast but when no one else is stepping up shouldn't he be wanting the ball and scoring at will? At least I would expect this if he is as highly touted recruit as I've read about on here. Does he play differently in AAU?

You have hit the nail on the head. If I were coaching Holmes I live and die with Ricardo Johnson. I would have him at the point and tell everybody including Pittman to get the heck out of his way. He's very unselfish and could easily dish the ball off.

Pittman shot the ball to much in the first half. Holmes players kind of started

standing around a little to much. There is a problem with the offense when Ricardo Johnson gets so few good looks. I've never seen such an athletic team stay so far out on the perimeter when running their offense. You had a great win Boone, but I doubt anybody in this region will handle Holmes on the big floor at KY Bank arena.

Pittman is a very good player however his level of maturity I could see potentially being the achillis heel for Holmes down the stretch when they're playing the state's best.

Boone did not play stall ball. They played patient half court offense and executed it well. They also played tremendous half court defense.

You can predict a Holmes victory every game, but my point from the beginning of the year that Holmes is not invincible has been emphatically proven, and it is never out of the realm of possibility for Boone to beat them with the right game plan. Boone's team played well, and I credit their coaches for a good game plan in this game.

Boone is very underrated on the BGP and Associated Press poll. They are not even top 20. McFarland and Boone's guards controlled the game. Riley and the Johnsons were not factors. Pittman had 12 in the first half and only 2 after that.

Holmes may still win out and are still a very good team, but all of the Holmes braggarts (you know who you are) can eat a lot of crow and humble pie tonight!:ylsuper::dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa

 sorry had to bold this sentence and look shocked. :D

I believe I called a Boone Co upset in the prediction thread. :walk:

Sorry Bulldog fans, had to run to work after the game. I see the whole state bashing. :idunno: I don't know why, Holmes still has one of the best records in the state if not the best. So they have been playing flat. Boone was the better team tonite. You know what Campbell might take them. :lol:I like all the replies on how some of you wasn't impressed, this was my first time seeing Holmes. :ohbrother: 24 other games and they don't have an offense. Party tonite, all of you. Promise you this, Henley lets them play Bulldog ball! The whole state is going to get smashed!!! :sssh:

IMO the 9th Region has 3 teams that could be ranked in the Top 15 in the state at any point during the season. Holmes, Boone Co and Highlands and all three of these teams have solid junior classes. Look out next year.
