January 25, 200917 yr Kentucky's half court defense is as good as I have saw this year. I agree. Kentucky is one of the better defensive teams I have seen and that alone will take them a long ways :thumb:
January 25, 200917 yr Both teams very sloppy, but we were 10 points sloppier. Cats play very good Defense and block shots. They can score from inside/out. But if they want to find the "Sweet 16" they got to learn how to handle the ball better. We will be lucky to get a NIT bid. Football signing day is two weeks a way.
January 25, 200917 yr I'll take the victory but that was a very sloppy game played by both teams. With that being said, it's nice to see they were able to win on the road with Patterson really not being a major factor. Did Jodie miss three FTs?
January 25, 200917 yr From a humble observer of College basketball, If Miller and Liggins step up their game as they showed sparks of today the University of Kentucky could be a very dangerous basketball team come March! Lets hope they do. Blue
January 25, 200917 yr Wireman, you are right on, I get the feeling half the time that people just like to argue with your rationalizations because it makes perfect sense. #1 in the SEC, 16-4, 5-0 should be ranked, why them and not VMI, easy answer, Conference appeal and strength, no way the Big South can even match half of what the SEC, has even on a down year. #1 in the SEC isn't much of an accomplishment this year. They've played 5 good teams all year, and are 2-3 in those games. They've played 15 games against bad to awful teams and are 14-1 against them. They haven't done anything that warrants a ranking right now, however, they most likely will be come Monday.
January 25, 200917 yr This is my take on the college top 25...come the second weekend of the tourney at least 9 of them are no longer there.Even with the higher seeds due to the rankings, anybody is fair game once they throw it up in March.
January 25, 200917 yr They won on defense and toughness today. There are some rumblings that Gottfried may not make it to the end of the year. The Ronald Steele issue seems to be turning messy. Steele said injuries were not the reason why he shut it down...there was some issues with Gottfried percolating for a while... Very good game by Darius Miller today. Did a great job on Gee in the second half...Gee didnt score...defended his tendencies... Liggins...you want to hug him and blast him during a game. Some unforced turnovers...made some sweet passes...hit a big three, had missed 21 threes in a row...loses man on final play at half...takes bad shot from corner late in game...gets them into transition.... Not worried about rankings...just keep winning, things will take care of themselves.
January 25, 200917 yr From what I've been reading about UK being ranked.... For those of you who think UK shouldn't be ranked next week based off the teams they have beaten, what is your opinion of St. Mary's? They are ranked in some polls, others not at all.
January 25, 200917 yr Another tough win on the road,I don't care who you play on the the road in the SEC, If you can pull out a win, that a good thing, very good thing indeed. Next game at Ole Miss.GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dancingpa
January 25, 200917 yr I think they'll be ranked this week :thumb: You said that last week. You'll eventually get it right. Persistence pays off... I do not think they will be ranked...
January 25, 200917 yr If Miller can get his offensive game to come even close to his effort and defense he will be a problem. He just looks so unsure of himself with the ball. That will come though. Nice to see them win with PP only playing about 8 minutes in the 2nd half. Nice to see the #4 scorer in America diving on the floor and getting steals instead of only playing on one end of the floor.

It was nice to see the #3 scorer in America doing it, as well  1. S. Curry, Davidson 29.3 2. L. Hudson, UT-Martin 27.3 3. J. Meeks, Kentucky 26.1 4. D. Holston, Chicago St 25.7 5. L. Harangody, N Dame 24.8

January 25, 200917 yr It wasn't pretty but a win is a win. Still perfect in the SEC also. Stevenson played well. He had another double double and hit some clutch free throws down the stretch.
