January 5, 200917 yr Hats off to Michael Porter. If you would have told me that Porter would score 8 points and commit 0 turnovers while playing the majority of this game, I would take it in heartbeat. I do not care how poor he was on defense, I really feel his presence kept UK in the game. With that said, Kentucky is still a commanding PG away from being a good team. Porter is maximizing his ability, imo. Porter cannot create for himself or his teammates. I applaud him for what he does. But he is a backup forced in to playing the role of a starter because Liggins dribbles like the guys on Double Dribble and I am not seeing much hope for the rest of the season. Patterson was the best player on the court. T-Will was 2nd best and very smooth. There is still something missing in T-Will's game, I cannot put my finger on it, but just something is missing. He almost tries to be too smooth at times, you know what I mean? He is like a smaller version of LeBron James. At times he needs to be more assertive. Meeks was hot/cold the entire game. About what you expect from Jodie. The player I was most worried about coming in to the game was Earl Clark. I thought he had the biggest mismatch but you would have thought he had never stepped foot on a basketball court yesterday. Stevenson's goofy self actually did a solid job on him and I think the early double teams on Clark got him rattled early. Good job by Coach G. on that one. Samuels??? What more can you say? It was about what I expected from the young lad yesterday. Big boy environment going against one of the nation's best. He was too juiced for the game and never had a chance to get going. He has a bright future if he hangs around. I still think the SEC is up in the air because UK is playing with 2 players that always bring it (Meeks and Patterson) and 10 other guys playing the other 3 positions other that you have no idea what you are going to get from them. As much as I think he is a trouble maker, Stewart is always in on plays and athletic and needs more minutes.
January 5, 200917 yr I still have no way to understand Galloway playing 4 minutes in yesterday's game. I also agree that we must have Harris to be successful this season, but after his injury he isn't in the game shape required for U of L on the road. Since Galloway started a few games three weeks ago, I always feel good when he is on the court. I have no idea what Coach is thinking, and like you, I have quit trying to figure it out.

January 5, 200917 yr Since Galloway started a few games three weeks ago, I always feel good when he is on the court. I have no idea what Coach is thinking, and like you, I have quit trying to figure it out. The 4 minutes he was in yesterday - he contributed. It was as if he was punished for Meeks making a bad pass or something. I personally think our top 8 should be: Meeks Patterson Stevenson Porter Galloway Stewart Liggins Harrellson Those 8 should be getting the majority of our minutes with Slone, Harris, and Miller playing in situational roles.

Missing curfews, being late, grades, etc. More so just not being mature. Probably a better way of saying it. Not with the law.
January 5, 200917 yr I disagree. At the 3 spot, he is the only one that comes in and does not turn the ball over or played scared. Granted, he does not give you much production on offense, but he is a solid defender and does not make stupid plays. He is not counter-productive, that is about all you can say about him. I will have to agree with CB on Harris. He is an ok defender but offers nothing on offense and makes alot of bone head mistakes. He may be the best option at the 3 right now but I hope that changes soon.

Hopefully, the talking heads will quit praising the Cats for reducing that number (since that happened b/c of weaker competition the last several games). * BCG's "T" completely changed the landscape of the game. What were you thinking, Coach? Your team spent the last part of the 1st half coming back, and the first part of the second half doing the same. And what do you do? Get T'd up when they finally get their first lead. Boneheaded move. Momentum shifted, and we spent the remainder of the game playing catch-up. * Sosa made a low-percentage shot. I can live with him hitting it. I thought Porter defended it the way he should have. I certainly don't blame him for allowing a 20% 3-point shooter to get off a 26 or 27-footer. But kudos to Sosa for finally being relevant...and clutch. * Where's Slone? * Harrellson looked like a lost puppy out there today. Disappointing, because I've felt he could be that elusive "third scorer." * UK has to get consistency with the "3" from someone other than Meeks. Defenses will collapse on Patterson if we don't. * A great, but sloppy basketball game. Hated the outcome, but have to give credit where credit is due--which is to Louisville.

While I agree, the funny thing is that it wasn't a low percentage shot yesterday. Louisville shot better from three (55%) than they did from two (40.7%). That statistic alone is a piece of the puzzle as to why UL won the game: they were hot from three and UK didn't defend it adequately. But yes, Porter did the right thing. It seems clear from the setup that the play would have called for Sosa to drive in to a clear lane had Porter been up on him.

January 5, 200917 yr :creepy: Well then who does the SEC crew referee? It is simply a Big East assignment when it is at Louisville and an SEC assignment when it is at UK. Most of the time you will see officials on this game that work in both leagues.
January 5, 200917 yr He felt that Patterson was fouled on a rebound or something and he must've said one of those "no no" words - or the inexperienced ref didn't know how to swallow his whistle. Inexperienced? The guy called the national title game last year. Tell BCG to quit flying his arms around on the sideline like a high school coach. For the record, I was rooting for UK.
