January 5, 200917 yr Great game... I sat in stunned silence for a few moments after that shot went in... I hate how people say that Gillispie gets outcoached in every game they lose. He did a fine job coaching this game, aside from the technical. His team battling back through all the adversity in the game is not a sign of poor coaching to me. A team that received poor coaching would not have been there in the end, IMO.
January 5, 200917 yr Hopefully not or they will both be 2nd rounds exits. UK is in a great position because they play in one of the worst conferences in basketball. UL will get beat up during conference play, but will benefit from it.
January 5, 200917 yr I'm happy to see the Cards come out with FIGHT in them! I'm glad it was a closely contested game, and kind of glad it was a game where they called ticky-tack fouls. They need to learn how to play through that kind of officiating, and it WILL happen again. I like that Sosa DID have the confidence to make that shot. I'm even more glad it went in. :lol: It was maybe a risky shot, but if they can make them, and he can, then it's worth it IMO. Also, given that UK was obviously playing off him, it gave him time to get comfortable and in position, so it became a low-risk shot for him, IMO.

January 5, 200917 yr Samuels has a lot of work to do. Patterson pretty much dominated him at both ends when he was on the floor. Samardo has to learn to use his size, stop looking for fouls, and play above the rim. Until he does those things, he'll have a hard time.

I would agree with you, but I also feel like you really can't judge his game, based off this one. The only thing you can really draw from Samuels game today is that he needs to stay out of foul trouble.
January 5, 200917 yr Great game, wrong ending. The ending was EXCITING, but being a UK fan, I can not help but see it as the wrong ending. Sorry for that. When UK cuts down on the turnovers, they will be scary. Patterson is a MAN playing boys.

The only thing you can really draw from Samuels game today is that he needs to stay out of foul trouble. I have seen him a few times now where he looked the same. He doesn't get much done unless its on a dunk and he doesn't rebound well either.
January 5, 200917 yr I guess since UK only has two legit threats we're just going to have to put up with Meeks' out of control plays. The best thing for him to learn would be the pull up J. He's either shooting a 3 or taking it to the rim and contorting his body trying to get the ball in.

It is the 6th best conference out there...nothing to celebrate. However, I don't think the Big East has nearly the depth that many claim it does.
