January 5, 200917 yr I didn't read any in this thread after the first page but my hat goes off to Meeks and Patterson. They both left it all on the court and I've never been so impressed before with either one of them. It was a pretty ugly game but it was entertaining and I'm glad UofL came out on top. Hopefully Sosa is turning over a new leaf...
January 5, 200917 yr Great game... I sat in stunned silence for a few moments after that shot went in... I hate how people say that Gillispie gets outcoached in every game they lose. He did a fine job coaching this game, aside from the technical. His team battling back through all the adversity in the game is not a sign of poor coaching to me. A team that received poor coaching would not have been there in the end, IMO. Some just think they know the game, when actually they don't. Therefore, no credit to the other Team and blame the Coach.

January 5, 200917 yr Samuels reminds me of randolph Morriss. I thought that Porter played the best game he has played versus quicker more athletic players. He was the calming effect on this team. I think he is becoming the quiet leader. I hope that Galloway starts getting more minutes. In what little we have seen of him, he has the best basketball instincts on the team. I thought that Stephenson played a great second half. He played great defense, hit some key jumpers, played the high low well with passes to PPat, and didn't get cheap fouls. I like where this team is right now. I would say that this week in practice will be hell after listening to BCG's postgame comments about lack of discipline.
January 5, 200917 yr Two in a row for the Cards...both teams have a long way to go to make the tourney. Cats turnovers and a lot of silly ones...Cards inside game and lack of rebounding....but I don't really know B-Ball. Long year of owning the state for the Cards. Not counting Western Ky.

I looked at my buddy before the game and said you know I have a feeling Slone wont play a minute today, my buddy laughed and said nah he'll get in at some point hes been doing decent and hustling lately. My reply was BCG will keep the trend up of certain players getting praise for their play and then after that they go down hill and they dont see much time if any. Seen it with Miller,Galloway,Harrelson and now Slone. 4 for 4!

January 5, 200917 yr Larry, imo both will be in the NCAA tourney. U.K. has a longer way to go than U.L. but both imo will make the Tourney. Pitino will have his team playing well by that time. I have no doubt about that. I also believe this U.K. team can be a good one by seasons end. As for this game, as I said, we were beaten by a better basketball team tonight. Pitino's teams/defense are going to cause turnovers, they always have. I really believe that without some of the stupid (unforced, ones that U.L. did not cause) turnovers that U.K. wins this one.
