How can anyone love what the Yankees are doing? I dont understand it. They go out and spend all this money, making the playing field quite lopsided. I guess I'm a baseball fan that enjoys seeing some good competition. I should just ignore this thread for the time-being before I get frustrated.

If Mark Cuban, out of the blue, bought the Reds and started doing the same thing, I don't think anyone would be complaining.

The contract is 8 years, $180 million.

 

I like the move, I'm still worried that that Yankees are behind the other teams in the AL East. We still have a suspect outfield, especially defensively. Moving Joba back to the bullpen helps, but he and Mo can't do it by themselves.

 

We just need to play the games now, I guess. Brian Cashman and the Yankees have won the Hot Stove League Championship. I hope this translates into wins on the field.

What's pathetic is that the Yankees asked for more public and government funding for their stadium, and then dropped all this money. That's what burns me. I don't like the Yankees spending like it's going out of style, but it is within the rules. But to ask for taxpayer's money when you clearly have more than enough of it pouring out your ears....

It was a genious move when the BoSox where going to do it. They didn't get it done. Love the move for the Yanks! I'm a Yanks fan and I think the Cuban argument is a great one. Baseball needs a salary cap but I don't know how anybody can complain that somebody wants to put a winning product on the field.
