This is like who came first, the chicken or the egg....NKY definately has the advantage if you take quality amongst all 6 classes....but I tend to lean towards who is better plain and simple....we have Trinity, X, Male, Central, and some others scattered that are good.....generally us, and X are better than everyone else in the state, so I would say Louisville has the BEST football.

No, because even Covington Catholic, Simon Kenton and Boone County would make us worry. We aren't worried about anybody besides the Big 3 from Louisville. No one in Louisville plays any of us down here anyways. Why should we be scared of anyone besides X and T? We know what NKY is bringing regardless of the school.

Obviously a person's answer to this question depends on how he/she defines "best football". Very similar to the NCAA football debates on best football conference. Do you go with the conference with one or two dominant teams or do you go with one that has 8-10 very good teams. Tough call.

Exactly, in no way are you going to get real results from this. We all will vote our areas as #1.

With that said, why aren't there other areas concerned with two straight state championship appearances, I think that Fort Campbell is making a bid to be ranked among the top teams in the state and they're not Louisville or northern Kentucky.

Sorry if I get off topic but I can't speak about NKY teams because we don't see them regularly in Louisville. When we do, they don't fair well with the exception of SK last weekend. What has dissapointed me this past season is the extreme drop off of Lexington schools. Tates Creek and Dunbar have wonderful facilities and a large enough enrollment to compete but they don't. Now, none of the Lexington Schools will schedule a regular season game with Trinity. They've decided to take their ball and go home. What's up with that?

You stand to be corrected. Lafayette and Dunbar have both scheduled Trinity in the regular season the past two years. All four contests have been severely lopsided.

We are all at least worried about ANY team from NKY because they appear to play the best football as a whole. I vote for NKY.

Central has been legitimately better the last two seasons, they had a coaching change which has produced great results.

Fairdale doesn't normally factor in to the top 10 of Louisville schools.

Not necessarily. Who has the most state championships has a lot to do with how many classes are represented by each area. Louisville is dominated by 6A schools with a few smaller classes sprinkled in. I thought the question was relating to if both areas created an allstar team, who would win? Is that not the question?:confused:

I don't think that's a very good indicator as NKY has good teams from several different classes whereas Louisville has almost all its good teams in 6A.

Although if you just take the top 2 teams Louisville has 29 with Trinity's 18 and St.X's 11. Add in Male's 5(or 6) and I think Manual has a handful along with Butler's 1, Southern's 1, Seneca's 1, Central's 1 and do we get to include closed schools because that would also bring up Flaget's as well.

I am going by what I saw. Ballard may have lost to Eastern in the regular season but they were really good by season's end which is why I placed them in another tier. Male has also dropped off dramatically over the last two years and I don't see them as comparable to the teams I placed ahead of them.

 

Male has been down somewhat the past 2 years but lets don't get carried away they only lost to Ballard and Central for the first time this year and have owned the series with all these teams mentioned in the past, except for X and Trinity. Their JV team was undefeated this year so i promise you they will be back.
