Because the majority of Louisville's football is in the 6A class. Are they to be punished because they don't have that many teams in lower classes?

 

The question asks simply, "Where is the better football played?"

 

There is no better football played in the state than at Trinity and Xavier.

 

If you want to re-phrase the question and say who has the best football from top to bottom...or "if you average all the teams, who is the best"...it might change the debate.

 

But, the question lends itself to merely looking at the best teams in each region and Louisville holds a clear advantage.

 

I know that. I was simply answering the question to the post I replied to as to why some people were picking NKy over Louisville.

Irrespective of class, it's Louisville far and away.

If you do not include St. X and Trinity, Northern Ky has it in the bag. NKY plays don't stop smash-mouth football where as louisville teams just cruise into the playoffs. NKY is always a fight.

Its easy to rank Male ahead of Boone County. Male lost to a red hot Simon Kenton team that also beat Boone County out of the playoffs after losing big to them during the season.

 

If you look at the rest of the schedule, with the exception of Ballard, all of Male's losses were to team's better than Boone County...3A champion Central, Eastern, Manual and Simon Kenton. Two of Boone County's losses (Scott County and Madison Central) were to teams Male beat.

 

I won't argue about the rest of the rankings, but my top 11 is right. And, that should be evidence enough that the better football is in Louisville...

 

Conner? Better than Male? No way.

 

Are there any A or AA teams in Louisville? If so how do they stack up to the similar sized NKY teams?

NKY 6A is not justified in this thread. Until the day NKY gets a 6A private school T/X will continue to dominate 6A, which will probably be forever. 1-5A is still well represented in NKY. But with Cooper opening and the talk of another public school out in Independence it will only continue to weaken 6A NKY.

I take it you haven't seen Beechwood/NewCath/CovCath play over the years? I could name 10 total kids on each team who would have started at T or X over the past say 5 years.

Class A - Holy Cross (7-5), Ballard Memorial (6-6), KY Country Day (2-9)

Take T and X out and its still a debate...Louisville still has 3 of the top 5 and 4 or 5 of the top 10...

 

As it is, you can't take teams out of the equation and Louisville clearly has the premiere football in the state.

Louisville obviously has the most talent. Northern Ky teams are pretty dominant in 1A & 2A, plus Highlands can compete for a title in any class other than 6A, but if all the teams were in one class, the teams from Louisville would make up about 13-15 spots in a top 20 ranking.
