Male has been down somewhat the past 2 years but lets don't get carried away they only lost to Ballard and Central for the first time this year and have owned the series with all these teams mentioned in the past, except for X and Trinity. Their JV team was undefeated this year so i promise you they will be back.

 

 

They lost to Ballard pretty badly in 03 too.

 

Sorry I am just not sold on Male continuing to be one of the "Big 3" anymore. Their place looks like it will soon be occupied by Manual.

Louisville by far. Population and tradition. Two powerhouses in X and T plus Male, Ballard, Central, Manual, Eastern etc. Not counting the up and coming Oldham County Schools. Louisville is a growing metropolitian city with a huge population of athletes. NKY football is good but I would have expected that Lexington would be in the mix somewhere.

After this weekend here is what I think:

 

Louisville.

Louisville has the best football teams, but it also has some of the worst teams in the lower classes.

I think Central and Trinity answered your question.

Northern Kentucky is the best in Kentucky (top to bottom).

 

The entire Cincinnati area plays great high school football. The quality of coaches, facilities, and players (mainly in Ohio) is second to none.

 

Most teams in the big school conferences of Cincinnati (GCL and GMC) have multiple players going to D1 Universities every year. (SEC, Big 10, Big 12, etc)

I agree that Northern Kentucky is more well rounded in their football quality, but the BEST football teams in Kentucky are St. X and Trinity, and 6A in general is dominated by Louisville.
