Russell High School is a Football School.

The officials in this game were from NEKY and have a hard time controlling a JV game. Not a good crew, worst in that area. No way they could handle a Lafayette game the way they act. Lafayette is an embarrassment to High School Football with the disrespect for opponents, cheap shots, sideline antics, etc.

Ball was not blown "ready for play" before the Scott County snapped the ball on the first two point try at the end of the game. That is why the play was stopped.

Raceland generally has trouble with Northern Kentucky teams, or any team outside of NEKY for that matter. I will take the upset.

Russell wins this one. Defense is unreal. Held a team to two first downs that hung 31 on Fleming.

Get the fire trucks ready. We are having a parade after we beat East Carter. It's because we have such a great fan base. Silliness.

How did that call change the game. Russell did not take advantage of the field position that play gave them. The return man did not score on the play. No way that Greenup was going to drive the ball on Russell's defense even if that play had stood.

Did you watch the game or just don't understand football? O line is not played on the ground. If you are on the ground you are a poor O lineman. Russell did have trouble with picking up the blitzing linebackers between the guard and center, that can be corrected. Stick to 1A football.

Russell needs improved quarterback play. Other than that they will be fine.

Really, a fire truck escort back to school after beating a team that will be fortunate to will two games this year. I thought Raceland's program had grown beyond that. I guess not.

Anybody know how many times Greenup Co. has beaten Russell in Football? I know they have played a lot through the years, just curious.

The final score does not indicate how close this game was. The varsity game only lasted 3 Qtrs. The score was 10-7 Russell at halftime. 14-10 wheelersburg late in 3rd when Russell began substituting and gave up a late score to make a 21-10 final. Each teams JV played the 4th which was prearranged. Wheelersburg's JV destroyed Russell's in 4th to make the final margin look so big. Russell is much better than people think, Wheelersburg is the best team in southeast Ohio.

Russell will win the district, then fall to Belfry in Region finals.

I don't think Russell will overlook Fleming Co. again this year, like they did last year. The Fleming Co. game is one that the Russell players are already talking about. Russell will be better in all phases that they were in 2015. My guess is that Russell goes to Pond Creek for region championship game.

Changing everything this time of year is a sign of true panic. It is also a sign of coaches having no idea what they are doing.

I agree. Raceland is always better than Russell. Raceland has a lot better tradition in Football than Russell. As a matter of fact, just cancel the game and give Raceland the victory. In my 40 years of following Russell football I have never seen us play a better team than Raceland. I'm just so thankful that Russell is not in 1A.:idunno:

The problem is that Raceland has never done anything at the State level. Nobody west of Morehead even knows who you are. All the preseason BG talk and everything is so humorous. You can talk the talk, just not walk the walk.
