Raceland is coming off two wins to start the season and will be facing an improved East Carter Raiders team in the Rams 2016 home opener.

This one is also the "All Class / All Years Rams Reunion" and "Rams Football Legends, Hall of Fame" weekend that ends with the game on Saturday night.

Raceland's "Orange Crush" Defense along with their O and D lines have been a dominating factor in the first two games. Ram QB N. Davidson looked very poised, was effective vs. Ashland last week. One downfall that the Rams have been showing is not scoring on every opportunity presented. They left 3 sure TD's on the field in the opener and 2 (maybe three) last Friday vs. Ashland. Sooner or later that will catch up with a team.

I hope that the Ram players can put aside the festivities of this weekend, with alums coming in later this week, the all day Saturday reunion and HOF Induction ceremony can provide distractions. I do think that the coaches will keep the team level / grounded and they will come out ready to play.

I am re thinking my score prediction of 33-7. Raceland hasn't put either team they have played (WC. Ashland) away when they have certainly had the chances, should have .... I can't pick the Rams to blow out anyone until they prove that they can and/or will put people away.

Raceland wins but by a score of around 24 - 15

The improvement I saw from week 1 to week 2 was great. WRs and RBs looked much better and the OL improved and looked a step quicker than they did against West. Nathaniel has been nothing but consistent and solid in both games. Time for the LBs to step up and the return game to come around. Which is exactly what I expect to happen. This isnt the game that the Rams put it all together though, but imo, it shouldnt be. I think they will be a bit hungover from the win and Putnam, but this is the 2016 home debut, the all class reunion, and HOF game. So with that said, Im going with the Rams in a route.

Imo, this can be as much of a statement game as Ashland was. This game has for one reason or another always taken the Rams 4 quarters to get a running clock/blow out. The next stride the Rams need to take is killer instinct. Both as players and coaches. Get out there, punch them in the mouth and rest your 1s. Its time that mentality is developed.
