I would like to see us TCB early. With all the goings on in Ramland this weekend coupled with next week's rivalry match up with Benadict Grizzle and company (joking lol), if we are truly a championship caliber team, we need to score early and often, keep their offense off the field, and have this game wrapped up by atleast halftime, imo.

Since East will be playing Saturday, the middle school will be playing their games on Friday this week.

 

7th graders are 3-0 so far, 8th graders 2-1

 

Games start at 6.

It has been brought to my attention that East Carter will not renew it's contract with Raceland for football. This is a growing trend. Boyd County dropped us a few years ago, Sheldon Clark revoked a 2 year deal before we even played. Our District has shrank from 4 to 3 teams. It is becoming difficult for us to find opponents to fill our 10 game schedule.

^Have the fire trucks ration fuel and start taking on some teams out of the eastern KY halo. LexVegas isn't that far. NKY has plenty of competition.

Personally, I would like to see us expand on our schedule. Lexington Christian was a big loss when they left for 2A. Id like to see us get them, Hazard, Pikeville, or some other south eastern my or Lexington teams on the schedule again. Beechwood has invited us to Skyline Bowl several times, but it always falls on the Ashland date and we arent missing that gate $$.

I like the idea but the school bus mileage issue and expenses to travel isn't conducive to our budget.

That's why you enter into a home/away contract. Expand the boundary. Like I said, siphon some of the fire engine gas. Plenty of nice squads not far past Lewis on the AA. The $ excuse doesn't fly.

Well, flying (your reference) or riding a bus....scheduling the weeks we have empty have been difficult. We do have one that may be in the works that will fit into your demands but it isn't in stone as of now.

Heck schedule the packers...that make DJ Spindoc happy?lol all in fun. I get what he is saying. But there is FAR more to scheduling games than just two teams reaching an agreement.

Wasn't a travel issue going to LCA before? Plenty of schools within that perimeter. And with all due respect to the directional Carters, maybe a better opponent. Just a thought.
