Seriously, as I said - I don't approve of he escort / mini parade thing after a big win. I personally wouldn't do it. After all, Raceland is used to winning.

Having said that and as others have confirmed my thoughts that it's not the Coach, coaches or school admin. contacting the Raceland and/or Worthington Fire Dept.'s and requesting this. Some boosters, parents do and it only happens on a big game.

District Championships, even though we have over 20 of those now or a Region Title(we have only 2 at this time) or ....Should we make the State 1A Championship or Win a State Championship ....I have no problem in celebrating.

a small, class A school has a limited number of kids / talent, athletes in each class. That's why the jr. high, Frosh and JV teams often have a losing record. By the time All reach Varsity .. it's ONE team, not single classes. .........How's that for an explanation of what that tells someone ?? :lol2: You're welcome.

 

And you do a fine job of putting together a great program....with the win over Ashland - best team in the NEKY area this year.....but Greenup co has plenty of resources to feed the program, it's not like you are isolated and limited.

DT TE Josh Salmons has played 4 years and started 3

 

QB Taylor Hickle, smart and athletic and has a good arm on him. Junior

 

Kane Phillips, younger brother of the graduated Darin, is a WR and I think was moved from CB to OLB this year. Senior

 

Gabe Limings is a really nice DL, he's quick Junior

 

There's others that could make an impact and have all played significant varsity time like Drake Dunn FB LB, Caleb James WR DB, Tanner Duncan OL DL, Kieran Fankell FB/TE LB, Camren Staton OL/DL.

 

 

Don't know who of the sophomores or freshman can contribute, but this is just a list of guys I feel will help out the Raiders.

I don't mean any disrespect to the Ram program when I say this, obviously the Rams have been good for a long time, BUT............I'm starting to see some cracks in the foundation. When this run of good lineman is over things may be tough for RamNation. Skill players have been down for few years, JV is down, West Middle put a very fast running clock on the Ram 8th grade, West's 7th grade beat the Ram 7th grade.............again, not a hater........just an observation.

 

This is my second year coaching at Raceland and here is what I've seen how it works. The freshman class is a pretty good well rounded class they beat Ashland last year as 8th graders. Their strength is their line. The 8th grade this year is very short on lineman, many will not be lineman after this year I would say, however probably a better set of skill position players. The 7th grade team has a pretty good set of lineman but short on skill players. The 6th grade class is a pretty solid group with good skill kids and good lineman. At such a small school when you put them in individual classes the weaknesses are pretty easy to see. When they all come together in high school it becomes easier to fill those gaps. Kids at Raceland seem to not drop out of football much after junior high like they do at bigger schools. 15-20 per class adds up to good numbers in high school.

None taken, not trying to start trouble......I respect the Ram program. Just thought it might be a trend for the rest of the season and the future. The Ram O/D line is very, very good and is the main reason for the success since the Messer class graduated.

I have no problems with different opinions :thumb:. After all, that's what bgp is about and it would be a pretty dang boring site if everyone agreed on everything all the time.

Another question is could this week be a classic "Trap" game for the Rams ? This weeks game has three factors pointing in that direction. 1.) Ram legends HOF weekend, all classes reunion. A lot of Raceland alums come in from out of town/state for this weekend for the "all RHS classes reunion, The Rams HOF Induction ceremony and the football game on Sat. night 2.) Rams, by most opinions are a huge favorite 3.) Big Win last week vs. 4A Ashland plus a Big Game / Rival in 4A Greenup Co. (coached by former Ram qb, asst. coach S. Grizzle) at GCHS.

All lead to a "Trap" game this week.

 

Rams ...Do Not get caught up in all of the "extra" activities going on this week and on game night. Keep your FOCUS on EC, your game plan .... PREPARE in practice, a team will play like they practice. .... EXECUTE the well prepared, Winning game plan .... PLAY HARD on every play RAM PRIDE FOOTBALL and then, and only then you will WIN !
