Kurt Warner wears gloves on both hands, I think he could have some success.

As for what Marksberry said, well I don't know if that was smart or not but hopefully we (SK) can back him up and bring a championship north. I don't see it happening but you never know.

If you boys had Kurt Warner playing quarterback for you Saturday, your chances would be a little better but not by much.

The real state championship game was played last Friday. SK cannot beat Trinity. Trinity can only beat themselves. Hopefully, Trinity will make a statement in this game.

Good point, I forgot about Justin Green. T's line is much better than Male's to make Phillips look faster than Green. Phillips on turf will probably look a tad faster than Green on grass but Green would win a footrace. Pass defense will be the huge challenge facing the Neers. I would hope that Miles plays every down at safety cause you never know when T is going to make the big quick strike with a pass play.

No doubt about it. They have always struggled against passing teams. If they can get pressure on the QB they might be alright, but against T's line that isn't going to be an easy task.

He definitely wouldn't hurt SK's chances but he isn't very mobile and it sounds like T is going to be able to get some pressure on the QB.

Here's my thinking about this game. All five NKY 6A teams were very close in ability and Boone proved to be the best team during the regular season. Any of the 5 teams would be in the same boat in this game. However, hats off to SK for upsetting Boone in the playoffs and SK deserves to be playing for the state title. So, I saw SK play twice and was not impressed by their offensive firepower other than 4-5 great plays by Simpson in the second game vs. Boone. T's defense is better than Boone's and SK scored only 14 against Boone during this period when they are on a "magical run". To have a chance to hang around with T, SK will have to control the ball. SK will not be able to sustain long drives against T with just the run game and they do not pass the ball well enough to give T problems with the air attack. So, T will have the ball more often than SK likes. SK's defense, like most high school defenses, is very vulnerable to the pass (see recent SK-Conner game). T runs excellent passing schemes and routes. In addition, SK has not seen a back with Phillips' speed as they try to stop the run game. T is superior to SK on both lines, offensive and defensive. Are not most games won at the line of scrimmage? I'm certainly not rooting for T to win, they don't need my support. They are just plain good and the best coached team in KY. SK is in for a long night, but I know they will give GREAT effort. My best guess at score is 52-7. Prove me wrong, Pioneers.

I am pretty much in complete agreement with this post. I hope SK can pull off the upset but I see a 48-14 win in favor of T.

Is he really that much faster than the back from Male? I thought he was supposed to one of if not the fastest in the state. All the other arguments are understandable though.

Green is probably a little "faster" than Phillips. But people forget that Green is not a running back. He played there because he had too. He's a DB in college - always has been and always will be. Phillips is a true RB.

Phillips finished second to Green in the 100 and 120 in the state track meet last year by seconds. His times were good enough that had he run in either of the other two classes he would have won.

So technically Green is fatser then Tim but not by much.

After viewing Phillips on the net, he looks extremely explosive. He also doesn't look to avoid contact, not many guys of his stature get D1 scholarships, that in itself tells me he must be a "player".

They will be opposite next year. SK's district matches up in the first round with X's.

The KHSAA has told Trinity that the set up for next season is subject to change. The KHSAA is entertaining the thought of going to 2 teams per district only. Also, with the finals moved to Warren County, they may tweak the rotation in 6A. Currently, 6A is the only division rotating in football.

Where did you find your information, I'd like to look it up as well.

The true recipe for SK to win is to walk on to that field and play the smash mouth football that we know you can. We have come this far and will not be turned away from what is rightfully theirs. Their fans can talk all the trash they want in the end the truth will prevail. Play with heart young men and that trophy will be on the bus heading for Simon Kenton to be displayed with your regonial trophy that the nay sayer ssaid we could not get.WE BELIEVE IN OUR TEAM

Yes, the 'Neers will be carrying the State Runner Up trophy back home to Independence. It is very similar in size to the State Champion trophy.

Jordan Whiting and Travis Bishop have the opportunity to earn 4 state championship football rings.....the first players to do so in Trinity history. The thirty plus other seniors will be trying to earn their third ring. The loss of Carrico hurts, but his teammates will carry on and remain focused. If Coach Beatty allows Kragthorpe to run the offense once he gets in the game, then Trinity may score 50. This is Trinity's fourth game at this venue this season. That's a HUGE advantage.

The Rock supporters mentioned that the returning offensive lineman would make a difference against St. Xavier. Whiting (LB)has lost a few pounds and is playing faster and more aggressive. Messina (DE)is playing violent football. Cam Smyth (QB)is on a quest and can see the finish line.

:p.. venom. I don't hate you people. Just want to see you lose once in a while, and have a memory from the 06 game.

Jim...son wants to go. I told him :find your own way."

Church Christmas party, I can't take him.

Do I really think the Rocks will lose?

I'm from Alabama and I know Football/Bible/women purses.

Thanks for the info. I have not heard that. I wonder when they will make a decision. If past history is any indicator, it will be a last minute announcement.

I am confident many of the Rock backers were looking forward to tangling with your Dawgs once again.

FYI-He has a broken tibia, not from the first play of the game. He went back in and blocked Trevor Foy and Sam Galbraith got blocked into him. Baseball season starts February 15th-hope to see the lefthander back in action by then.
