Congratulations to the Blue Birds and all of their fans. I wish we could have made it a better game. It sure was a long drive home down the AA highway.

Congrats Birds. A costly win, no doubt, but a nice win over a pretty good football team. Prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery to all the injured and banged up players.

 

Congrats Tomcats for a good season. I enjoyed running into an old BGPer, Frances Bauvier, after the game. Class act. Really a pleasure getting to meet him. Hope he and all the other Tomcat fans made it back safely to Ashland.

Congratulations to Highlands on the win. As I posted in the prediction thread, to be the best, you have to beat the best. Playing against Ft Thomas shows the level of the bar.

 

Prayers are with Carter and the Highlands player…I hope a speedy and complete recovery is in order for both young men.

 

Congrats to the Tomcats as well…way to turn things around in a positive way in 2008. I’m really proud of how our seniors pulled together this year…thanks for some very memorable moments and setting an example for the underclassmen

Congrats to the Birds for coming out and taking care of business. That bomb to Collinsworth was a thing of beauty. Can anyone man up to AC and stop him? It was nice to see Josh Conner get some more touches as well. I am hoping by the 5th week of this post season he is back in football shape. He just needs to take some more hits and get his timing back.

 

Defense played superbly, the only score was given up due to a long return of a tipped ball interception (Short Field). Other than that it was a shutout. I hate to see kids get injured so I am glad to hear the Carter boy is recovering and I wish the best for Brandon Roller. He will be missed greatly on this year's squad. With that said I have confidence that Hogue and Abner can step in and help the Birds to number 18.

 

Congrats also to Jake Turner for nabbing an INT and returning it into Ashland territory. We were all hoping that one would go to the house.

 

Only disappointment was the sparse looking bleachers for a playoff game. I understand it was cold out last night but still would have liked to have seen a big student section.

 

Good luck Birds next week down in Paintsville. Focus on defense this week and stopping the run because CCH gave up 680 Rushing yards last night. EEEEEEEEK

Also, congrats to the Ashland Tomcats on a fine season. A lot of people were writiing you off after week 1 but I believe that theory has been proven wrong during this season.

Ashland fans, coaches and players are a class act. Ashland will be back on top and sooner rather than later imo. Also, thank you to Ashland fans for your support of Raceland throughout the season, it is appreciated. :thumb:

I want to say I met several people from Ashland last night and collectively it was one of the friendliest groups of people I have ever met. I really enjoyed myself last night.

Ashland's Rashard Carter was sent to the hospital with what may be a ruptured spleen. Highlands also had a player injured, I believe a torn ACL.

 

I hope both players are okay. Fans from both teams, try to let us know when you find out.

 

Can anybody with some info close to the situation shed some more light on this injury. I was with Highlands team doctor for a little post game activity and he said he made a phone call to the hospital to check on the player and it seems the injury was not as bad as first thought. Doc said originally the kid looked in really bad shape but after reaching the Hospital and receiving some minor tests and treatment, the kid actually was doing really well. Someone please help!!!!:confused:

I hear the Welch kid from JC is very good and very athletic. Someone told me last night after watching him that the kid will match up quite well with HHS receivers. Should be fun.
