I had a bad feeling about this game for Ashland, Highlands had some rage to take out and after hearing how lucky they were all week they vented. Thought the Ashland fans were pretty nice people considering the score. Disappointed to see the Ashland player throw a right hook and get ejected.

 

Hats off to the Highlands the sophomore guys, particulary Bankemper scoring two TD's and beating the Ashland varsity 14-0.

It was after a simple run up the middle only for about 5 yards, I didn't see it but I turned around and saw the refs raining the field with flags. Didn't make a lot of sense because most of the Ashland kids and Highlands kids were head tapping after each play. I guess he was a senior with reality setting in and lost his composure.

Something like that. There was a little post play action, and when a ref stepped toward the players to break it up, #44 inadvertently took a swing at him. It looked like it was intended for a HHS player, but the ref stepped in at the wrong time. It wasn't real close, but the apparent intent was what got him tossed.

Bonner got into it with two different kids on the same play..He was definately out of control...

I thought he swung at a HHS player but it was kind of out of the corner of my eye.

I don't know what happened in the pile, since it was too far away. But I did see the ref try to seperate #44, who then took a swing at him -- or in his general direction enough for it to look that way from our vantage point.

Hope everything goes well for the injured Ashland player. Son just got a text that the boy's ok after surgery.
