On CNN the return was 85-15 and said Palin did him in.

I still have a hard time believing that is the case.

 

If the question were, "Did McCain lose this election because of the past 8 years?", I have a hard time believing the overriding answer would not be YES.

Can't say I don't agree there. McCain had some of the same policies as Bush which in the end hurt him because Bush's presidency did nothing but destroy our economy and put us in a state of need for change.

I said this the day I found out Palin was his running mate.

I was going to vote for McCain, and when he chose her, I felt that he was picking someone out of the blue to counter Obama who's ran his whole campaign on change. If McCain pick's Romney, he gets my vote. It showed me that he was not focused on his choices. I believe that Obama was.

Some Republicans came out and said it was a bad choice to pick Palin.

 

Has she spoke to the press since the results are in? I am curious what she will say.

He had no shot of winning, IMO. The initial reaction of the Palin pick was a boost from conservatives, but the ensuing fallout killed him.

The letter R cost McCain this one. If a D was in the White House last night, and with the same economic conditions etc, McCain wins.

Rudy G had the best answer when he was posed that question by Alan Coomes.

 

Each VP candidate had their warts and no matter who the selection was, that same question would be asked of them.

 

Romney had his problems.

Rudy G had his.

Huckster had his. And so on and so on.

She definately drew attention to him causing him to sway more voters.

Just sad that is wasn't enough...

Part of the motivation for picking Palin was that she would appeal to disaffected women voters that were Hillary supporters. That didn't seem to work out very well.

The smear and distortion begins to discredit Palin for 2012. Liberals cannot stand anyone that has a moral compass, such as Gov. Palin has. They want beat her up now so the job , at least in their minds, will be easier to defeat her in 2012 or anyone like her.
