  1. I can tell you what its like to live with a pot head and a alcoholic. The alcoholic was a jerk, mean, nasty and uncontrollable. The pot head was personable, funny (as you would expect) and could get along with everyone. Problem is, they both were the same person. My brother quit drinking after 20 years and during the 8 that he wasn't drinking he smoked weed and we felt like we had a new family member. Then he feel off the wagon and we burried him 2 years ago at 45... Growing up with both, I would much rather have a pot head in my circle of friends then an alcoholic. As someone who has done it before, I never once considered doing coke, uppers, downers, fizzles, huffing, and the other 90 drugs mentioned in that commercial. Gateway, nada. If you are going to do harder drugs, its because you are choosing. Not because pot made you. Besides, if they legalized it, it might help lessen the amount of kids I see on my corner wistling all hours of the night trying to sell a dime bag (is that what its still called?) in additon to everything else. 2. That contract was going to end at the end of this month and no new discussions were taking place before this happened to renew. Plus it is one of the smallest sponsers he has. They just go lucky with some good PR. His biggest sponsor, Speedo says they are fully behind him. G
  3. Top thrill dragster at Cedar Point. 0-120mph in 4 seconds, then it shoots you straight up 410 feet and back down. The ride last less then 15 seconds and it's worth every bit. When we went, it got stuck at the top for over a half an hour before it made it back down. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/rides/coasters/top_thrill_dragster/index.cfm G

  5. Miller has turned the ball over 3 times taking it out. Can someone get him out of the game!
  6. Actually, it very well could be. Everything I have read and seen has shown me otherwise. From National Geographic. I apologize if they have a hidden political agenda. I don't read them enough to know. "Arctic ice is rapidly disappearing, and the region may have its first completely ice-free summer by 2040 or earlier. Polar bears and indigenous cultures are already suffering from the sea-ice loss. " "Glaciers and mountain snows are rapidly melting—for example, Montana's Glacier National Park now has only 27 glaciers, versus 150 in 1910. In the Northern Hemisphere, thaws also come a week earlier in spring and freezes begin a week later. " The whole article is here. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2004/12/1206_041206_global_warming.html G
  7. It doesn't, what global warming produces, is very extremes in the weather patern. IE, snowing in Houston and New Orleans. The winters will be come harsher, summers hotter, huricanes seasons will last longer etc. It doesn't mean we are going to burn up. For those that don't believe in GW, how do you explain all the melting that is taking place within the mountian regions and all the glasiers that are disappearing. I tend to pay attention to actions more then words and when I can see things going away, then it tells me more then what a scientist suspects. G
  8. The idea behind global warning is that it will cause extreme changes in the climate. Not that we all live in 70 degree weather. The summer will be hotter and the winters cooler. Huricanes will last longer in the season or we will have none at all. It's not meant to mean that we are all going to get a great tan in 10 years... G
  9. I was going to vote for McCain, and when he chose her, I felt that he was picking someone out of the blue to counter Obama who's ran his whole campaign on change. If McCain pick's Romney, he gets my vote. It showed me that he was not focused on his choices. I believe that Obama was. G
  10. The way I was taught growing up in church is that doing ANYTHING to excess is a sin becuase you are putting it before God. It could be watching sports, working 80 hours a week etc... Not saying I agree with all that, but that is what I take from his question. G
  11. My wife and I go there at least twice a week to eat. Love burger night on Wednesday. Burger with any 5 topings, (bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon and cheese) if you want for 5 bucks. Plus you get fries... :thumb:
  12. 13 seconds in and look at McCains face when he hears it. G
  13. When will people realize that everyone will know everything about your business when you open up and speak... http://crooksandliars.com/david-neiwert/joe-plumber-more-joe-keating-family- G
  14. Were there any recruits at the game that heard our wonderfull fan base act like children??? G
  15. If I take my son to the ball park and he is not in the lineup, we are both not happy. Like it or not, he is one of the best to ever play and I don't mind saying that I have watched him do so. G
  16. $3.97 in Kenwood at lunch. Shell when from $3.67 to $3.97 in the 30 minutes it took me to eat a burrito! G
  17. My personal experience is that I had a brother pass away last year directly from alcohol abuse. He drank since he was a teenager and was horrible to deal with. He gave up alcohol for about 8 year and they were the best years of his life not to mention our family's life. During those 8 years he smoked pot pretty much every day. But I could talk to him, deal with him and live with him. He fell off the wagon 5 years ago and died last year. I know from my first hand experience that being off alcohol and on pot was the best thing for him. At least I had some time with him that was worthwhile... And yes there were times of being off both and they were horrendus. Some people use alcohol, pot, drugs, gambling, food, church, sex, what ever it is to allow them to function in the world. We are all messed up in our own minds so if him using pot gave him some "sanity" so that he could function, I had no issues with it. As long as he didn't hurt our family in the process. G
  18. I am not sure what you mean by being Revelations bound. But to answer your questions, yes, I feel that the majority if the issues we face today in all of our lives is driven by our ego. I believe that God has given all of us choices, unfortunately, its our ego that makes most of them for us. G
  19. According to the book about spirituality I am reading now, its your ego that is tempting you.... Not Satan.... G
  20. I just think the guy loves the state and wants to come back. I also think that being an offensive line coach for Ky State is easier then a high school head coach... G
  21. I think Butler was already well established when this guy got the job..... I wouldn't say that he built them.... G
  22. I am working a project right now for a guy who's parents both work at the university and the three names he hears that keep getting batted around are Miller, the guy from Washington state and Pitino. He said Pitino was up there snooping around the last time they had an opening. He said that Stallings was one of the AD's top 2 choices last time, but was vetod to get Sampson... G
  23. If the NCAA is smart, they will take IU to task for hiring him and not putting enough "institutional control" in place to monitor his activities. If the NCAA wants to send a message to any school that is looking at Sampson, they will pound IU. IU knew what they were getting and still decided to hire him. Its all on them right now and should be... G
  24. My thoughts exactly. Let him be here a few years before he starts telling the old fogies that sit down low to stand up and cheer... He would take a beating if he did that right now. G
