Ironlung
9th Region Freshman tournament starts Saturday @ CovCath. Should be a great tournament again this year. CovCath does an excellent job with this tourney! Lots of very good freshman teams this year, definetely an up year. Upper bracket matchups: Scott/Conner (winner to play CCH), Newport/NCC & Highlands/Simon Kenton. Lower bracket matchups: St Henry/Holmes, Holy Cross/Beechwood, Boone Co/Ryle & Dixie/LLoyd. BigStud
My question is why is Beechwood in this tournament but other Class A schools like Bellevue, Ludlow, etc are not? There is a sepearte tourney all Class A schools have the option to play in. Holy Cross NCC and St.Henry have opted out of that for quite a few years now. Beechwood has done so also recenlty. It shows the program is making strides.
BigStud
Brossart used to play in this tourney, it used to not be considered 9th region but the NKY freshman tourney. When did Brossart start to opt out?

Gmoney
top 3 teams I believe are HC, CCH, and Highlands Simon Kenton beat HC and Highlands and lost to CCH in OT. Wouldn't count them out.
NKYBOY1487
St. Henry has a pretty nice team. They lost to HC and CCH in close games. And went 1-1 vs. Highlands. I might be a little biased but they are my sleeper. They have a some really nice players on the team this year.

Ironlung
I've seen every team in the tournament this year and can honestly say it's wide open. There's an argument for almost every team. Most overall talent in a freshman class I've seen in a long while. Should be a great tournament to watch. Wish I knew all the game times. Looked on CCH website, but couldn't find them. I'd say that any one of these eight teams could win it and not be considered an upset: CCH, HC, Highlands, St. Henry, Boone Co, Dixie,Simon Kenton & Newport. The 10th has their own tourney, don't know about the 8th. I"ve always been under the impression it wasn't a regional tourney, its wan an NKAC thing. Thats why I didn't know why Brossart wasn't in it anymore. You sure on 10 years? I'm almost positive they weren't in it in 98.
