  • Obviously the "best freshman in the state" didn't play. that's the only way the boys on the hill COULD have beaten the Wildcats....Right??? Head Director...where you at??? :dancingpa

PREDICTION: HHS wins a close one. Eric Kyle back for the 'Birds, I heard last night. Should help guard play. Box out-rebound-win !!

That would be nice.... the Birds need some strong Frosh players for next year.... Willie needs to keep an eye on who he thinks can get some varsity minutes next year because I just don't see much from the JV this year. They have a couple of kids who are big, physical and athletic but from a "go to" perspective, there really isnt anybody that has taken that role on. Maybe the Connor kid who I am hearing so much about can take over at point guard next year and free up Mcgraw and Simpson for offense.

HHS 44-NCC40 Good game both teams. HHS will play CCH wed. at six.

NCC hung tough and HHS played "not to lose" in the final few minutes. NCC briefly tried to press and HHS was well prepared and broke it for a couple of easy scores. This established the "cushion" which HHS enjoyed most of the second half. Good play out of Mitch Fair, Eric Kyle (welcome back!), Josh Connor, and the "sixth man-award" tonite goes to Austin Geisting. This guy gets better and better each time I see him play. (even with the "errant" pass toward the end). Big free throws and a 3-ball from "big red" Jordan Messer. NCC got good play from their point guard. His quickness troubled the 'Birds all night. The Roll boy played well, though saddled with foul difficulty. But the man on the court for NCC was the Osterhag boy...he's their future!

Good bench minutes from the "Matts" Giesler / Johnson and Ben Paar was hustling all game. Game went pretty much to form...the winning difference was the play / presence of Josh Connor. Head Director was spotted there...your thoughts??

Thank you DMZ,

I was fortunate enough to get to attend the Young Bluebird-Thoroughbred match-up. Needless to say I really enjoyed seeing some of the up and coming stars from both schools. Great atmosphere for the Freshman to end up their season before going on to the varsity level. For NCC, I was impressed with the Olberding boy, big and physical, dribbles well and can shoot. The point guard, little Michael Gish is very quick and handles the ball very good. For the Bluebirds Messer and Fair played good, I felt Tony Guidugli played a good physical game (6 points and 7 rebounds). Though it looks as if JC plays like the "BEAST" that he is, the Birds just might win them a 9th Regional Freshman Basketball Title!! If anyone gets a chance to see this youngman perform, you are in for a real treat. He can do it all, shoot the lights out from the inside and outside, rebounds with the best of them, great on "D", and in the 4th period of tonight's game, he went to point guard because he handles the ball and shoots FT so well. Great Game and Win for the Birds, Good Luck Wednesday Night!!!

I know Highlands won and Holy Cross defeated St Henry 45-32. Does anyone know who won the Dixie/Ryle & CCH/Conner games?

That sets up a heck of a final four for Wednesday night!

CCH, HC & Highlands are definitely the top three teams and have been all year long. Ryle earned their way in and could win this thing if they can knock off HC and beat CCH or Highlands after their war Wednesday. Should be two great games especially the CCH/Highlands affair.

Either of these four teams can win it all, but I think CCH has to be a slight favorite, especially at home.

I heard Stovar hurt his ankle in the Conner game. If he's out, I'll take Highlands in a close one.

I like HC in the nightcap by 5.

Should be two great games!
