Wow....

I am, and always have been, proud to be an American. While I did not support Senator Obama, I recognize what this means and how far we have come as a country. President Elect Barack Obama has made history, and I congratulate him for it. I only wish his grandmother could have lived a few more days to have seen this historic event.

 

While I did not support him, I certainly hope he succeeds in moving our country forward in a positive direction. Those of us who opposed him MUST hope and pray for his success. If we do not, we are not being patriotic but partisan.

Yep...we should stick to finger pointing, blame assigning and partisanship. Because that's what has done so well for us. We shold harbor grudges, be closed minded before hearing anything. Everyone else should change, we are right.

While I agree that the dems never gave Bush anything but strong opposition and degrading comments in the press, as a conservative republican, I agree with you that we MUST take a higher road this time to turn the tide on this nasty partisan trend. If reps oppose certain policies/proposals they need to deal with the facts of their opposition and why it would not be good for our country and not simply make every issue a partisan issue. There is some common ground and that is to move the country forward.

I hope I am wrong, but I fear what lies ahead in this great nation.

I make decisions based on my gut and heart feelings and often refer to my raising which was within the church (thanks to my mother). I feel that America gradually wonders away from the very values that our country was founded on. We can now only hope and PRAY that the Lord will bless us. Hopefully Mr.Obama truly loves God & Country! It won't take long to see.

Congrats. to Obama although I didn't support him or vote for him hopefully he can get this country back on the right track.

I personally didn't vote because I felt neither candidate was right for the position but had I voted it would have been for Obama so I'm glad to see he won the election. I just don't think we would have seen much change with McCain in office. He is too much like Bush. And I honestly believe that Palin was a horrible running mate for McCain which in the end hurt him. Obama will bring a much needed change to this country that we've needed since Bush ran us in to the ground and left our economy in an anemic stage that many haven't recovered from.

 

If I remember correctly, not many gave Clinton a chance when he was first elected president in 92 and look where he took our country. Sure his personal morals were questionable but our country and economy was the best we had seen in some 30 years with him in office.

 

I say for those of you who don't support Obama, that's your perogative but give the guy a chance to prove himself before you totally discount him. As everyone has said, this is truly a monumental event in United States history.

I will pray for Obama. However, I cannot and will not support his liberal policies of pro-abortion, wealth redistribution, etc. The change he plans is not the change America needs. God bless America, please.
