My argument for Gary Oldman:

My vote goes for Gary Oldman as well. I have not seen anyone who has the versitility that he does.

Look at Harry Potter, Batman Begins, Dracula, True Romance and The Fifth Element and tell me that you can tell each character he plays.

The man is a chameleon.

Ed Harris. He is not always the lead actor, but if he is in a movie, I make it a point to watch it. He makes everything he does better.

I always like Ed Harris movies as well, he is actually one of my more favorite actors. I am actually watching "The Rock" with my roommate as we speak.

I liked Harris in 'Radio'.

Also, Oldman will be starring in the movie, 'The Unborn', slated for a 2009 release.

Denzel in a landslide. I honestly can't think of a Denzel movie that I didnt enjoy.

A couple good ones left off the list are Don Cheadle and Gary Sinise. Steve Buschemi (sp?) also deserves some consideration.

At the end of the day though, it starts and ends with Denzel. Christian Bale in a not so close second.

Just a little insight into some of the better works of those mentioned in my previous post:

Primal fear is one of his best acting jobs. It is a must see.

Exactly what I was thinking when I saw his name!:thumb:

Edward Norton is great in:

Rounders

American History X

Fight Club

The Incredible Hulk

The Illusionist

I agree ed norton is awesome! American history x and fight club woke me up to this cat.

Gene Hackman, Jack Nicholson, DeNiro, Pacino, and Sean Connery. Are these guys not this generation? If they are, they are the best. I would also includ Dustin Hoffman.

Dicaprio needs to be on the list as well.

I don't know how those crusty old farts could be considered "this generation," outlawcoach.

Don Cheadle is my pick. He's freakin' amazing.

I guess we need to define "This Generation."

Currently I believe the best actor is Leonardo DiCaprio. Blood Diamond is one of my favorite movies... he was great in it. I was not a big fan of the movie, but he was great as Howard Hughes in The Aviator. Great in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape." I am excited to see him play our 26th President in, "The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt."

Denzel is a close #2 in my book.

My argument for Gary Oldman:

Gary Oldman wasn't in The Firm

Tom Hanks

It just about has to be Tom Hanks, IMO.
