As for te best..on this list I would pick Denzel Washington very high. I don't know if these two are considered this generation or not (they are not on the list) but Tom Hanks imo is the best actor. I also like Jack Nicholson as well.

Primal fear is one of his best acting jobs. It is a must see.

Ed Harris. He is not always the lead actor, but if he is in a movie, I make it a point to watch it. He makes everything he does better.

A very good actor, and you left out one of his best performances. The Professional. A classic.

 

Tom Hanks has to be in this list. I would also add Val Kilmer to the list. Also, not sure if they are too "old" for this list, but Pacino and De Niro also should be in there with a shout.

He isn't my pick for the top but if you are questioning his credibility and not that of Ben Affleck than I don't know if you even watch movies.
