Primal Fear is one of my top 10 favorite movies. It is what got me going on Edward Norton. It may have been his first movie... I believe he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in it. A must rent.

In all the movies you mention, where does Mel Gibson play anything but Mel Gibson? He's just like Tom Cruise in that he essentially plays himself in every movie. To me, that's not the sign of a great actor. The actor should mold himself to the role he's playing, not mold the role to himself.

Some of the actors on this list are horrible. Sure, they play in great movies and make a lot of money, but the title of the thread is this generations greatest actor. Tom Hanks is the most overrated actor of all time. If you want to see great actors, look at Daniel Day Lewis, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Chow.

Ed Norton ranks right up there for me. However, to narrow it down to this generation there is no way that one could pick just one, way too many actors that have made an impact in Hollywood.
