Denzel is great and has been great for a long time.

Others I really like:

Tom Hanks

Chevy Chase (maybe not the best, but he's one funny dude)

Jim Carey

Harrison Ford

Morgan Freeman

Depp

Penn

Cage

1. Russell Crowe

2. Denzel Washington

3. Tom Hanks

4. Edward Norton

5. Johnny Depp

6. Tom Cruise

7. Christian Bale

8. Will Smith

9. Robert Downey Jr

10. Brad Pitt[/QUOT

My Choice!

Edward Norton

Don Cheadle

Sean Penn

Am I really the only one on this forum that believe Mel Gibson should at least by considered?

Braveheart

The Patriot

Signs

We Were Soldiers

Mad Max Trilogy

Lethal Weapon x 4

I could continue I just dont' see a point in listing every movie he was in.

(I know he hasn't made a movie in a little while, but that doesn't take him out of this generation)

Not sure if he qualifies...... Daniel Day lewis

If not, id say

Johnny Depp

Ed Norton/Christain Bale

Heath Ledger

Most of the names of my favorite actors of this generation have already been listed. But I don't think I saw Kevin Spacey's name anywhere. He is a great actor too.

Primal fear is one of his best acting jobs. It is a must see.

I have not seen it, but I will definitely watch it and the 25th hour now.

Primal Fear is one of my top 10 favorite movies. It is what got me going on Edward Norton. It may have been his first movie... I believe he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in it. A must rent.

In all the movies you mention, where does Mel Gibson play anything but Mel Gibson? He's just like Tom Cruise in that he essentially plays himself in every movie. To me, that's not the sign of a great actor. The actor should mold himself to the role he's playing, not mold the role to himself.

I can't stand Mel Gibson.

Some of the actors on this list are horrible. Sure, they play in great movies and make a lot of money, but the title of the thread is this generations greatest actor. Tom Hanks is the most overrated actor of all time. If you want to see great actors, look at Daniel Day Lewis, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Chow.

Ed Norton ranks right up there for me. However, to narrow it down to this generation there is no way that one could pick just one, way too many actors that have made an impact in Hollywood.

Pacino

Deniro

Decaprio

Cage

Smith

I quit even trying to list them all.

I concur about the Ed Harris movies, he adds the extra touch, although I enjoyed his lead role in the Abyss.

Sean Penn may be the best of any generation.

Mel Gibson

Brad Pitt

Russell Crowe

Denzel Washington

Daniel Day Lewis

Edward Norton

Tom Cruise

Christian Bale

Leonardo Dicaprio

George Clooney

Philip Seymour Hoffman

Samuel L. Jackson

Laurence Fishburne

Jason Statham

Will Ferrel

Eddie Murphy

First 5 in order, others are just listed that I like, not in any order.
