It's the week I actually realize other teams in the state play football.:lol::lol:

Personally, it's been the most frustrating week of the year. :irked:

Johnson Central should win this one. I look for a close game in the first half with JC opening things up in the second.

I picked JC in this one but I will say that an Ashland win at Putnam would not shock me. Ashland is a good football team and I can promise you that they will not roll over and quit just bc JCHS is very good.

The Tomcats have as much history and tradition as anyone in the state and more than most. They (Ashland) play with pride and are always a threat, especially in Putnam Stadium.

Definately a lot of respect for Ashland in the poll :lol:

Finally, we can now discuss a game which has been on the minds of all Tomcats for a very long time. After a disappointing district loss last night, Ashland has another blemish on their record…but…these Tomcats do not tuck tail after a loss…the respond rather well. After the Raceland game, Ashland came back and won 47 – 0. After the Ironton loss, the Cats responded with a 36 -10 thumping of Russell.

 

I think our seniors & company will come out with a vengeance this Halloween night…it would have been nice to bring an undefeated district record into this match up, but THIS GAME IS STILL FOR A DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP.

Im sure Coach Matney will remind his team of just these points. Needless to say this game will have alot of adrenaline and emotions involved from all parties involved, even the fan bases.

This will be my first time out to watch the Eagles this year... I cant wait!!

With or without the poll Johnson Central is the clear favorite. Ashland has been the underdog in most of the games they have played this year. The role is nothing new for this team. They actually play better when they have something to prove.

Im sure Coach Matney will be sure to address both of these points in this weeks practice. Overlooking the Tomcats, although I dont see it with the recent history of this series, would be devasting for the Eagles to say the least.

Can anybody post the size of Johnson Central's offensive line? I have heard they are one of the best lines in the state and their ridiculous running stats seem to back that up. I was just wondering if they are big, fast, or both.

They have good size, but by no means are they huge. They do appear to have more speed than most offensive lines but they are well coached by arguable one of the best Line coaches in the state in Tony Burchett. I would say that Ashland has more size up front than JC.
