  1. Raeligh is a pretty good lock-down defender. I dont know if he guarded Craddock or not. However ugly it may have been a win is a win. I was pretty impressed with both teams defensively. Dixie missed too many good looks that could have sealed the victory earlier. Cheatum is a pretty good player, but who else will Lloyd have next year?? The future is bright for Dixie!!
  2. You are exactly right, scoring at the JV level is irrelevant if you are a junior or sophmore with little potential to play at the varsity level. However, if you are a 7th grader it is a little more relevant. Hatton has had more varsity points than McClendon (Holmes) this year. Is that relevant??
  3. He is scoring 16 in JV as a 7th grader and your not projecting him to be a scorer?? He had a bad shooting night last night, so don't make projections after seeing him one time. He is a very good shooter, but as mentioned before its a little more difficult playing against Boone Co, who contest shots very well.
  4. It's probably best that they didn't play. After having the entire week off school I imagine that it would have been a pretty ugly game. Has anybody heard anything when this game will be made-up??
  5. Good luck Pineville against Elliot. You will probably need to score about 50 more points to compete with them.
  6. I had heard that Hood was the only returning starter of last years team. That's pretty impressive numbers so far this season. I would imagine that he will get an opportunity to play at UK as a Freshman. You can never have enough shooters, especially the way UK, aside from Meeks shoots the basketball.
  7. How has he been playing this year?? Does anybody have his PPG, Reb, etc? For the people that have seen him, how good will he be next year at UK?
  8. Yes man to man. Possibly full court run and jump. I have only seen them play twice.
  9. Nobody is going to do away with the district tournament. However, I believe that every district should be seeded. All the small schools get a chance to play in the All A. For a majority of the small schools, that is their state tournament. I still like the two team from each district advancing too. What if the top two teams in the region are in the same district?? Are you going to send one of them home?? Probably not. The regional tournament is about who is hot during the last couple weeeks of the season, so why would you only have 4 teams in the regional tournament. That's what makes it interesting b/c typically in the 9th region there are 6-7 teams able to win the championship.
  10. That would be nice to see Holmes lose its first game of the year to Cooper, who in turn would get their first NKY victory. Whoever made the schedule is not very smart for the simple fact that they have had a very small chance to win any of the games on their schedule. I would be playing every small county school within 30 miles.
  11. After losing Eflin Tyler and Cradock off last years team, Lloyd was suppose to be down. But the scores that I am seeing they have been competitive this year. Who does Lloyd have??
  12. After looking at their scores on riherds it does look like they are struggling to score. Do they not have any shooters?? How come nobody ever talks about Giwa?? How is he doing this year??
  13. Dixie wins a low scoring game by 4...How has Holy Cross been playing? Haven't heard alot about them.
  14. It will be a close game thru three quarters then Dixie pulls away...Dixie wins by 12
  15. I would say that UK is a very underrated team. Even though they just recently got into the top 25. Their defense is one of the best in the nation and they have arguably the best duo in college basketball.
  16. Even with Holmes back-ups in the game it is still going to be ugly. There has to be a way that Cooper could have played a less-brutal schedule. I heard that the AD did the scheduling before Sullivan was hired. They should have picked up smaller schools in the NKY area. Looking at their schedule for the remainder of the year, I only see them being close to Carroll County. Every other game is going to be an L.
  17. Everyone knows that Holmes is the team to beat for the next two years. However, after that it is going to be wide open again. I like Dixie's chances with having Tammel, Pike, Hatton. Also, Dixie has a pretty talented freshmen team without Pike and Hatton. Ill be glad in two years when Holmes talent graduates and the 9th region goes back to normal...about 7 teams with a chance to win the tournament
  18. Bad draw for Newport...Congrats NCC on making it to the 9th region tournament
  19. Ill take NewCath in this one, 59-52. NCC will get it into their big boys..Newport has no answer down low
  20. I would agree with most of your points gravedigger. However this years senior class, with the exception of Brock, Gotsey, Vreeland, was not good at all. He had little varsity experience to work with. However, Spritzky has won some big games but they were either with the 2003 or 2005 class. He also won the districts in, I believe, 2006. The biggest problem is they have not won the big game/s vs. Cov Cath or Highlands.
  21. Hopefully next year their can be a set schedule to avoid all this confusion. It is going to be a good tournament, with quality teams, for years to come but the schedule of game locations was total chaos.
  22. Ill take Scott with the upset...Although it doesn't matter much to Clark right now. Once they get everybody back they will be hard to beat. I think they have a top 5 team in the state when everybody is healthy....oh yeah and they are still young!!!
