New Cath @ Newport in the All "A" finals

Featured Replies

I like NCC but the athletism of Newport will be hard for the Breds to handle. The 3 big guys for NCC had a big night against the much smaller St. H team let's see how they stack up with a team that ranks bigger in size.

If Darnell stays behind Giesler it'll be tough for him to get to the rim. Look for Newport to jump Pangallo.

NCC will need a big night from the 3 ball. Home court advantage is obviously not going to help NCC.

This will be a great game to watch!!!!

I think this could be a great game. Newport won the first matchup by one a few weeks ago, which many on BGP and in northern Kentucky considered an upset. But Newport has just kept playing better. I think the edge might go to NCC because they have been in this situation before, but this one should go right down to the wire.

NCC had to fight out of a 14 point hole the last time. I don't think they get in that situation tonight, and come away with a victory. NCC by 6

I think this one could go either way. Newport is the more talented team but NCC has the edge in experience.

If I remember correctly, Newport was up by about 20 in the first game against NewCath and the Breds crawled their way back only to have Newport win on a last second shot. IMO, that was a learning experience for the Cats.

The Cats have 4 losses this year by 4 points or less, that could have easily been 4 W's. They are 5-2 in their last seven games. This is a very talented team. Also, you have to wonder how much the St. Henry game may have taken out of the Breds.

Good luck to both teams!

What time is the game tonight?

I would have to think after the way the first game went and the way Newport is playing right now at home they will pull out to a lead and hold on to win this game.

What time is the game tonight?

7:30. Thanks.

I think the Public school wins on their home court tonight. Newport if they can put together a good game has the horses.

Darnell gets 20+ and 10 boards.

If NewCath plays like they did against St. Henry then I'd say NewCath takes this one. Now, if Newport can remain focus and play their game then I'd go with Newport. However, every time I've watch Newport this season - they appear to get off to a great start and then they let teams get back in the game and then its a fight to the end. Darnell needs to stay around the boards tonight - too many times they place him on the outside which would be a bad choice against NewCath's big men. I was impressed with NewCath's big men against St. Henry - NewCath IMO is the type of team that gets better as the season goes on - this IMO is because of the waiting for the football players to get out of football mode and get into a basketball mode. Newport needs to keep Collins in this game more tonight - he is hard nosed and not afraid of getting knocked around under the hoop. Luther needs to get more involved under the hoop also - Luther could be a big plus if he stays under the hoop. Overall I say - take a coin to the game and toss it up - heads Newport tails NewCath - you call it towards the end and that will probably name the winner in this one. This game will come to the wire if both teams bring their A game.

Ill take NewCath in this one, 59-52. NCC will get it into their big boys..Newport has no answer down low
