I don’t know what more you could ask for in a high school football game. The stakes are high and the competition will be fierce. We have a program with a long standing tradition of quality football and one which is emerging as more than just a “one hit wonder”. The Eagles are showing signs of consistency in having solid teams over the past few years. There is a perfect balance of respect and animosity…can’t wait for kickoff.

Well, the count/vote right now is 100 - 25 in JC's favor. I think that it is fairly safe to say that this one will not be a 75 point spread or that JC will score 100pts. I don't think that has happened since Ashland scored 100 on Cattlettsburg High way back in the day. (I think that is right, may not have been 100 though)

FWIW, 201 PATs is the career total in Kentucky, 97 for the season and 12 in a single game.

 

 

Interesting, who holds these 3 records? I'd guess the K from the Lorenzen/Smith Highlands era, but not sure.

 

 

As for the JC v. Ashland game, I'm pulling for Ashland for family reasons. If the Birds are able to get to Round 3 of the playoffs, I sure would like the #1 seed to be gone (whoever it is) to allow for another Home playoff game. If not, we'll happily travel down the AA or to Johnsonville because while it's fun to have a home game in the playoffs, an away game is better than no game at all!!!

JC ran the ball 42 times out of 44 offensive plays last week. The two times they decided to put the 'skin into the air it was dropped onto the carpet. I don't recall the qb running the ball either...

 

Seems like a rather simplistic game plan for Ashland...

Your right it has the making for a great matchup. And Ashland is far from a "one hit wonder". I look for a great game.

Every team knows what were going to do. The problem is stopping it. There is no secret, Johnson Central is going to run the belly at you tomorrow night.

I took it as if he meant that Ashland is the program with the longstanding tradition and that Johnson Central is the program that is starting to look like more than a "one hit wonder" since they are pretty good every year now.
