I wouldn't say they are favorites to win. That age group seems to be pretty even. Raptors beat Wolfpack, Outlaws beat Raptors, and the Wolfpack has beaten the Outlaws.

The Wolfpack picked up a very good player from Gallatin Co.

Things should get very interesting now at the BCI. Dave is selling beer at Sportsville? I know times are tough but this is bad idea. He has youth school teams playing there during the week. Then on the weekend things get heated up already sobber. Wait till one of the drunk moms start yelling at the refs.:jump:

I agree. I have been to some games at the BCI that get out of hand due to poor refs. Throw some cold ones on top of that and that is like adding fuel to the fire.:flame:

I agree with everyone on the BCI, and Sportsville in generalbeing a joke, however the physical nature of the games are going to be great for the kids moving on to the High School ranks..

Im going to go ahead and let Guru know that there will be several calls placed to this location this winter if this is true. I cant believe they are going to allow parents the opportunity to get sauced up during Youth sporting events. Some of the parents can get unruly as it is and you throw a few Bud Heavy's in their system on a Saturday morning at 11am and it could get ugly.

 

I know our guys will avoid that place like the plague but I look forward to the stories to come this winter. LOL

I have been in multiple youth sports venues over the years that have served beer. MidAmerican in Louisville (unless I am losing my mind on this one) sells beer. Who's to know whether a parent went to the local Applebee's behind, had a few cold ones and then went back to watch the second game of the day? That could happen as well. I promise you one thing -- A parent who acts out of line alcohol-induced is that same parent who acts rowdy sober.

I didn't know that little tidbit. I was working out the schedule for our season and had considered that place for one. I won't any longer.

If you are talking about taking MidAmerican off the schedule, don't. IMO, Fred Hale does the best job of anyone in the state putting a tournament together. He doesn't do one every weekend, so when he does he normally puts a good field together. On top of that, he never shoots bull to you on who is entered. The only downfall is the courts -- more of a volleyball complex -- but the first class nature of the tournaments outweighs that. And, the officiating wasn't very good when I started taking team there 5-6 years ago, but he has cleaned it up over the years not by changing officials, but by expecting more and more out of the same ones.

Mid America is a great place to play other than the floors. Fred Hale does put together the best run tournaments in the state. They do sell beer and I have not seen any problems from parents because of the sale of beer. But more importantly what I like is he stops everything between 10:30 - 11:00 and has FCA in every Sunday morning for a non-denomination church service for anyone that wants to participate!

They do a great job at Midamerica and Fred is super. I have never seen a problem there.

No beer sales at the BCI this weekend, just good basketball and bad refs. 4th grade team to beat look like the NK Wildcats. 5th grade at a 5/6 grade team in called the DC Nuggets with some big kids. I got to see some 8 grade ball. The Wolfpack has talent but didn't play well together. Should be some good games tody.

Nope, talking about SOAS. We haven't played at MidAmerican much, but not opposed to filling our schedule with that location either. Always good competition.
