Conner may not lose a game this season, very good team and well coached. I thought Conner's coach could have took the press off both teams a little sooner. He was pressing Holmes in the 4th quarter with a 30 point lead. Not very good sportsmanship Woody!!

Fleming County has a gaurd nobody could stop at all. Got to the rim any time he wanted.

I think kids should be able to play up!! If you have a fifth grader good enough to play or even start for a school 6th grade team. You are holding that child back but not letting him on the team. The only reason why they don't is so parents of a cut kid, doesn't cry, moan and groan. I know in Kenton County the 4th and 5th grade school league is a fundamental league. It is a necessary league to teach the kids not in AAU to play the game. But every school has a hand full kids that are a little more developed and they need something else. At my son's school I begged the AD to let me grab 7 kids and go play in the SOAS school league. She wouldn't give me any gym time for these kids if we played there. You would really think the high school coaches would get more involved in this, but they don't. Walton does and outstanding job with their youth leagues. Schools should copy what they are doing. But this has to start at the top with the high school coaches and AD.

Okerman will be even stronger is Dalton Turner comes out of hiding and plays. Big strong kid to go with Moss. I heard he wasn't playing anymore for some reason.

Conner 8th is very good and got a cake walk in their district.

Sorry, got the wrong one. His older brother that played with Darius is going to Pikeville.

I spoke with Charlie Hawkins (NK Wildcats coach) and he was extreamly happy with 8th place at nationals. He also said he would be happy when the Wildcats get back together in a month or two. Looks like this Tarheel experiment is over. Congrats to all the boys, they desearve it.:thumb:

Tarheels, Hoptown and Albany all win. Good job to all teams. Tarheels and Hoptown will both advance to the Championship Bracket no matter what today's out come is.

Just got back. Tarheels win by two by over Texas Suns. Total team effort, great job guys. I spoke with Coach Mcneil and Coach Hawkins. Both very happy with their teams effort.

Anybody making the trip to Lexington this week to watch nationals? NKY Tarheels will be playing. I am going down at least one day. Most of these kids are the NK Wildcats and the rest the Wolfpack. They have evening games all week. Should be some great young talent down there.

Tar Heels lose first game by 8.

Both teams move on undefeated in pool play. Championship bracket starts tomorrow.

Tarheels and KY Elite both win by 20 plus today in pool play.

Looks like both teams should win their pool games again today. Tarheels with North Alabama Crusaders and the Elite with New Jersey King Street Kings. Both teams should make it out of pool play undefeated. The only hurdle I see is the Wisconsin Playground Elite in the Tarheel pool. They look pretty tough but if Hatton and Mcneil and company come to play, they should be alright.

James called AAU and explained the break up between them and the team they joined with. I forget their name. They participated in the state with them, then broke up. AAU gave them an at large bid.

I have a hard time putting Henley at the top of this list. I know they won state and only loss one game. But talent wins a lot of games, coaching wins a lot of close games. I don't know how many close game they had, not counting the state finals. With the talent or lack of talent he seems to have every year. I think Jim Hicks does about as good as of job as you can do. His teams always seem to have a plan to exacute against their opponet. Where as Holmes, Dixie and Cov Cath just seem to come and play. Holmes just seems to have the talent to win those games. I will say this about Henley, his teams will guard you, tip to buzzer. Maybe that is his game plan. Play as hard as you can on the defensive side and I will let you do freelance on the offensive side.
